Die Beratung war grundsätzlich kompetent. Allerdings sollte man sehr genau darauf achten, dass Kreditsumme und Eigenmittel wirklich den eigenen Vorstellungen entsprechen. Da der Verdienst der Finanzierungsberater anteilig an der Kreditsumme berechnet wird, besteht die Tendenz, die Kreditsumme möglichst hoch anzusetzen (auch wenn immer betont wird, wie knapp sich der Kredit nur ausgeht). Wir mussten lange diskutieren und umfangreichen E-Mailverkehr führen, um die Kreditsumme schließlich auf den gewünschten Betrag zu reduzieren. Zudem war die Beratung zu den anfallenden Kosten beim Kauf des Eigenheims sehr undurchsichtig. Wir hatten gehofft, durch einen Finanzierungsberater einen klaren Überblick zu erhalten, doch im Nachhinein stellten wir einige unerwartete Honorarnoten fest. Auch die Beratung über die Kreditvergabe hinaus war äußerst spärlich, obwohl dies ursprünglich beworben wurde. Informationen zu Wohnbauförderungen und der Auswahl des passenden Modus waren nur sehr begrenzt und unzureichend.
