The very best tradesman is worthless if he simply doesn't show up, twice in a row. I actually didn't want to hear anything more after the first missed appointment, but based on many recommendations, I wanted to give it another chance and made a new appointment with the secretary. The poor thing got it all on the phone (apparently I'm not the only one who was left standing) and apologized a hundred times. A truly pleasant and helpful woman, she finally gave me a new appointment and even made a special note in my appointment book that the boss should at least be nice enough to cancel if he doesn't show up, so that the wait isn't in vain (something that should really be taken for granted, isn't it?). In fact, Mr. Scherkel simply didn't show up for the site inspection a second time, without at least a quick phone call to apologize so that the wait isn't in vain. I can't say anything about the work this company performs, but punctuality, reliability, and a modicum of courtesy are only offered by the secretary, and that's not enough for me.

For the renovation and extension of our house, including the construction of a new attic, we chose Scherkl for the sheet metal work based on their detailed and attractive offer. All work, including the roof flashing, was carried out in copper. The sheet metal team (Stefan, Lorenzo, etc.) worked cleanly and handled the many specialized tasks very well. Owner Thomas was also frequently on-site, working energetically and clearly enjoying himself. The only slight drawback was the owner's availability and adherence to scheduled meetings. However, this minor shortcoming was more than compensated for by Jacqueline, the competent, very helpful, and always friendly "fairy godmother" in the office.
