I’m staying at the Thon Hotel so I have access thru the Hotel. I have used the gym 3 times and this is my review. 1. Change-room is disgusting and it smelled worst after they cleaned it. 2. 50 percent of the equipment broken down and cardio machines are rusted like they have been sitting outside for years. I’m not sure what is going on but this gym seems to be very poorly managed to say the least. Gym has decent size and space but not maintained or setup well at all.
What can I say… this gym is completely neglected. It's unsanitary, the lockers are broken, the sauna only works half the time, there's a musty smell, and it leaks in the room. I took it over for a year and I regret it. There's so much potential, but the manager couldn't care less. Why not sell it and admit that you're not up to the task?
i am posting this under a different name, but I have been coming to this gym for several years because my office is close and I have seen the condition deteriorate considerably. the men changing areas are dirty and in bad overall condition (wcs never clean, wet floors, mould in showers). the man sauna is maybe the most disgusting place in the gym: when you enter you literally stand in water and sweat, it smells bad and is always packed with people, many of which dont shower before they enter or even enter in underwear after their workout. also the door doesnt close properly since months (!). the common sauna is out of order since more than half a year - no one cares repairing it (not the first time). most machines are quite old and overall, there is far less choice than in comparable gyms of that size. the wifi hardly works, esp. in the pool area. the gym has great potential but the management seems to have no interest in seizing it.
Gym area is decent. Good machines. Unfortunately the changing room is something else. Broken showers, broken taps, broken sauna doors or benches, broken or dusty or rusty lockers; often in this state for months. It just hurts the experience. It is also true that I’ve caught athlete’s foot a couple of times (despite wearing flip flops).
I requested a day pass since it was one of the few gyms open on a Sunday and conveniently located near my hotel. The gym is decent, with two squat racks, a few useful machines, and free weights available. I didn’t use the showers, but I do have some concerns about the hygiene of the facility.
