Afterwards, the tree is shortened from top to bottom into smaller sections, and he can drop these sections with precision down to within a few centimeters—true craftsmanship, even an art. I watched it with admiration and enthusiasm. My trees were almost surrounded by all kinds of building materials, and I didn't have to move a single thing. On top of that, Jelle has extensive knowledge of trees, can provide advice, and can adjust expectations. So, on his advice, I left a large beech tree standing after all, because it is still perfectly healthy and beautiful, and especially because I now know that if it is ever necessary, Jelle can safely and expertly shorten or fell it without me having to worry about fences/house/etc.
