A really good company.
Construction negligence, illegal construction and desecration of the deceased's memory, that's what we have experienced in our case where Jorton has been responsible for the renovation of the house we bought. In 2014, we bought a house where Jorton continuously renovated from 2009 to 2011. In 2008, the seller's deceased husband agreed with Jorton that they would come and do a renovation of the house where they would do underfloor heating, a bathroom and a retaining wall. The seller's deceased husband becomes very ill and dies, after which new rules come into effect and Jorton only begins to "renovate" parts of the house in June 2009. In the bathroom, they are going to expand the room, here they are removing a wall in one room and putting up a new one. It is made of a plywood board and a layer of wet room plaster, with spaces in between... But it doesn't stop there. They make a too steep slope, but instead of doing it right, i.e. redoing it. They choose to lay a new tile on top and a new frame for the drain, so that the water can run under the whole thing and into the wall. They also fail to ensure that the water that runs behind the rosette for the faucet cannot run into the wall. So every time you take a shower, water runs into the wall. In connection with the shower cubicle, they put up a set of glass screens, here they drill 12 mm. holes into the wall through the wet room plaster, fail to seal the hole so that water can run along the hole into the wall and cause moisture damage. So in the bathroom the floor, wall, etc. are made incorrectly, and more or less all the tiles do not adhere to the floor as they should. Which therefore also needs to be redone…. The hallway. In the hallway they are laying tiles on top of the existing floor, here around 70% of the tiles do not adhere to the substrate (construction error) Next there is a height difference of between 3 and 4 mm between the tiles, it is just between 2 tiles so it is also a construction error. The joints vary from 3-4 mm to 9-10 mm wide, this is also a construction error. All in all, the floor should never have been delivered to the customer, but they do and the customer does not know any better. Living room/kitchen Here they remove the old wooden floor and insulation, here they then lay the screed on top of the old screed, heat pipes on and cast on top of this and thus fail to lay the 200 mm insulation. That is when they are doing the illegal construction, it was previously illegal but they do not inform the seller about this but do it knowing full well that it is illegal.!! Here the tiles are also lying around like the wind and should NEVER have been delivered to the customer. The floor arm itself seems like the wind is blowing, as they have set up 3 zones in the same room. At the door between the hallway and living room it gets scorching hot, as all the pipes for the heating in the rooms come out here. The heating in the kitchen zone runs regardless of whether it is opened or not. So, frankly, some illegal construction sloppiness from start to finish. Instead of standing by their responsibility, Jorton chooses to try to wash their hands by saying that it was the customer's husband who had agreed with them. Despite the fact that they are responsible for making sure things are done legally. Doing the opposite, is illegal construction, sloppiness. The case has then been to the insurance appeals board since there is a change of ownership insurance, but here we are left with a bill of almost 80,000 kr. for the bathroom and around 50,000 kr. for a floor in the hallway that needs to be redone and is not covered by the insurance. So I can't recommend buying houses where Jorton has done anything, or using them at all because you don't know what you're getting..!
