In appearance it looks like a premium platform for both owners and renters as emphasised on their website - 'Be part of an exclusive Scandinavian brand', but the first point of contact was rude and far from premium. I'd been asking for a call as offered on their site when proposing my property for rental in order to understand the conditions, get a feel for the sort of service which I would receive etc.. eventually after three attempts I got a call from someone which seemed in a hurry and would not attend me unless I sent photos of the interior of my house before any other communication 'as they have too many requests and need to filter' - I insisted I'd prefer to chat first and he insisted this was their procedure. I'm obviously not interested if this is my first impression and would politely suggest they refrain from offering calls if this is what it comes down to.
I've tried to book accommodation twice now, unfortunately without success. In the first case, the chosen week wasn't available, and in the second case, the house's location was listed as completely wrong. A very unprofessional website that I cannot recommend.
Warning to hosts — “Managed by Landfolk” is not management Overpromised, automated, and completely unaccountable: We signed up with Landfolk because their platform promised quality guests and personal homes — a great idea on paper. Because we live abroad, we paid extra for the “Managed by Landfolk” service, which supposedly handles bookings, guest screening, and care. In reality, it’s just automated bookings with no control or accountability. Auto-booking was activated without our knowledge, leading to back-to-back short stays and rapid wear on the property. When issues arose — including guest negligence that caused damage — Landfolk refused responsibility, calling themselves “just the middleman.” They also fail to ensure guests read or follow the house manual, meaning the house isn’t properly used or secured. Questions from guests are simply forwarded to us, even when the answers are already provided in the manual. We’re now paying for a “service” that creates risk instead of reducing it. Had we known, we would never have chosen “Managed by.” In short: avoid this product if you care about your home. It’s misrepresented, poorly managed, and offers no protection to hosts.
We have tried to book through Landfolk twice now and both times were equally bad. Their pictures on the website do not correspond to reality and we received a rental house where the landlord had left food in the oven and their dirty towels were all over the place. It was dirty and the host ended up adding us on social media - that is, misuse of our data. When we complained to Landfolk we got a measly 500 kr. back and a "whoops, we're sorry". Not good enough at all. Therefore we definitely cannot recommend Landfolk to others. We will only use airbnb.com from now on, as their customer service is much better and more professional and the pictures correspond to reality.
Landfolk delivers a great service: lots of summer houses to choose from, easy to find something within our price range, and easy to book. We had a really nice stay in Northern Jutland. The host was really accommodating and had left a letter and basket for us which made us feel very welcome.
