Gjensidige
A Danish insurer offering bundled coverage, with notable gaps in claims handling and pricing transparency.
What customers love
- Fast and solution-oriented customer support from named staff
- Bundling multiple insurances under one provider is convenient
- Prompt initial claim registration process
Worth noting
- Premiums significantly higher than comparison sites and own website quotes
- Claims mishandled for months, files lost, cases wrongly assigned
Best for
Customers seeking bundled home and personal insurance with minimal expected claims.

Not much to say other than it's an interesting pricing and communication strategy they have going on. When checking the insurance premium on a comparison website you get an amount that's 10%+ cheaper than what they just came up with for 2026. To top it off, my premium should be discounted because of some CA membership deal 😅. I guess I'm a bit of a fool to have stuck with them this whole time. Hopefully by the time anyone reads this i managed to change ship. A common response would be: well you might have a higher risk profile or something: - had 0 accidents in the past 7 years - have been insured with 0 registered claims - have had a drivers license for close to 20 years now and no fines or clips besides a parking ticket a few years back - have a total of 3 insurances with gjensidige Piece of advice, keep in check your price and don't let yourself be fooled by "you're getting the best discounted price". I gave them the benefit of the doubt until I got their latest price updat and ran the checks i mention in this review. P.s. when running a price estimate on their website (with a cpr number of my partner who doesn't even have a drivers license) on the same car model, yearly mileage, address and insurance level I also get a price that's 20%+ cheaper than my special CA deal... this is utterly embarrassing and something I will bring to CA's attention as well. Find yourselves something else if you can; there are better places to donate 15 to 20 00dkk / year.
We‘ve got all of our insurances by this company and are very happy with this decision. The customer support - in this case Emina - is really excellent, very fast and always delivers the right solution. Therefore a big Thx to her and her colleagues, we’ll gladly recommend this company. I am really dissatisfied with the ejerskifteforsikring they offer. Our pipe broke off suddenly and the insurance does not cover it. I was told by the insurance I should have put a bucket under the sink for 2 weeks instead of calling a urgent VVS.
I am speechless, I do not understand processes of this company at all. I was hit by a taxi driver 2nd of February, the police provided me info about the driver and his insurance company Gjensidige. I immediately opened the claim case with them, filled out all of the information, gave report, provided police case number and I was told to wait for them to contact me. 13th May the police closed the case and issued the fine to the driver and told me that I should be compensated from the insurance company by the time. I contacted Gjensidige who for whatever reason were not able to find my case, and after some time they found it but it was missing the report I have done with them. Okay we have done a new report. Since then I have been calling them on weekly basis, asking about the updates and provided them with all the information asked, photos, conclusion of police case, the bills for damage, my bank info, simply everything. Then the month of July when I called them I was being told my case worker is on holiday and he will come back next week, but that my case should be done by the end of the month. At the end of the month my case worker was still on holiday and I had to travel myself. Now 7 months after my accident they concluded that the driver actually was not insured with them and that they are transfering my case to other insurance company. This is mindboggling to me. I was given info by the police, the gjensidige company spent 6 months on the case, proving the damages only to at the end figure out he was not insured with them? Now the new company is starting the process all over, and are telling me I have to wait for 3 months for the driver to open the case with them, and if he will not they can start looking into my case only after those 3 months have passed. I was told that Gjensidige is a good company, but if this is a standard for a good company then I am speechless. First three month nothing happened because they somehow lost my files and report, and then 4 months and 30 phone calls later being told actually I should contact different insurance company and start over!
Everything is good and fine until you get stuck with a bad clinic. This was unfortunately my case. The clinic that the insurance chose for me was pretty bad and the doctor ended up ignoring me and was overall not very helpful. I contacted Gjensidige with hope of getting approved for a new clinic. They contacted the clinic that ignored me to see if there was any misconduct and ofc the clinic said that everything was great from their side. I have never been asked to show any proof from my side about the misconduct. I will seek help of a private doctor outside of the insurance, at least in that case I can choose a good clinic that has good reviews.
