What kind of building was destroyed? The architecture isn't that of a school, but rather of a manor house. "In 1938, a new school building designed by Anton Lembit Soans was built on Spordi Street, accommodating 522 students. A sports field and a 110 x 20 meter swimming pool were built behind the school building. A singing stage with a grandstand was also built next to the sports field in 1938, and the First Kohtla-Järve Song Festival was held there on August 7, 1938. Studies in this building began in September 1939. The building is included in the National Register of Cultural Monuments."
