How I pawned gold rings at Luutar to supplement my income I went there for the first time on February 3, 2026. Everything I brought was considered scrap, even though all the rings were intact. But they told me that if they were scratched, they were scrap. I tried to argue, but they said, "If you argue, we have the right to refuse service." I didn't argue at first, but when the receptionist started weighing them and subtracting the weight of the stones in the rings—and they weigh practically nothing, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 grams, and even less, as I mentioned—especially the inclusions of stones in the ring, she refused to accept me altogether, saying I was being rude and that it's our policy to refuse you. She then returned all the items and refused to serve me. I took everything, saying that the workers were reasonable and that it was only you who was behaving inappropriately! I thought about it until the next day and went back on the 4th. A different receptionist, Jana Leonova, was there, as stated on the receipt. She reminded me of my misunderstanding the previous day and said she wouldn't accept my items. Since I really needed the money, I sincerely apologized and passed it on to the previous receptionist. She then began accepting the items, judging the weight of the stones by eye, which was clearly overpriced. But arguing was too much for me, so I had to agree. Having received my agreed-upon amount, I retreated with another apology. And so I left the ill-fated pawnshop, which is located at Keskallee, Kohtla-Jarve, Estonia. This is the level of service we offer, and exclusively in Russian, despite the government's widespread push for the use of the Estonian official language, even in schools. And what do you think about that?! Who's at fault, the customer or the service staff? 2026.

This establishment is not always staffed by conscientious employees and can sell expensive goods to minors. Thank you to Yuri Deyanov and Yulia Ragel for their assistance in resolving this issue. The law of the Department of Consumer Protection states (in brief) that if a legal representative does not consent to a transaction involving a minor, the transaction is invalid.
