Thierry did a recent survey for us. His English is excellent which made the whole exercise much simpler for us, as my French is quite limited. We were also not in Europe which made communication even more important. His report was very complete and he has communicated with us since then with possible options. We were quite happy with our choice of surveyor.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience after hiring Thierry to cruise our boat from Reims to Calais. In the process he managed to rip our canvas cover in half that was over the helm. He did not report it until after he had been paid the remainder of his fee, which he charged us extra for because he had not estimated the amount of time needed correctly. Then, when he did report the rip, he said it was a small rip that was easily repairable. You can see in the picture attached that is not the case. The entire canvas cover has to be replaced. It is not a repairable tear. We had specifically shown him how to lower the canvas top over the helm when going under low bridges. Clearly he did not pay any attention to that. Additionally, when we got back to our boat, the toilet in the owners cabin was not working at all. And had dirty water and mold, and he had not reported any issue with the toilet. It was clear he had tried to fix something on the toilet because the flushing mechanism washer was removed and hanging loose and that can only happen if he had unscrewed it. Luckily we were able to fix that easily. But it took a while to get the smell out of the boat. We found this under reporting or lack of reporting to be completely unethical and irresponsible. We do not recommend hiring Thierry as a result. I don't think he has as much experience as he claims. He certainly found a way to milk us for thousands of dollars and damaged a necessary part of our boat without taking any ownership or responsibility of that.

Thierry is a super professional surveyor. He is thorough and has saved us the headache of buying the wrong boat by diligently investigating issues and going above and beyond to check details to ensure we knew what we were buying. He worked with us on a second survey and was happy to give free advise on the boat before conducting the in depth review. Managing a purchase from the UK and sailing to Greece was difficult and we couldn’t have done it without Thierry’s help. He met us at the airport, arranged our safety equipment for transfer and also coordinated our service with the boat yard and even sailed the boat over to get the work done. He stayed with us every step of the way and even stepped in to help with some insurance issues we had. He is very experienced and knowledgeable and professional at every step. Thierry was always easy to contact by video or phone and has stayed available to assist with queries. And he’s also super nice and very personable! We enjoyed a lovely lunch on the day of the survey and he was able to share lots of valuable tips and advise. Plus such a bonus to have a fluent English / French speaker. We will stay in touch with Thierry for future projects. 😀

We hired Theirry for a pre_purchase survey on a 47' Catamaran in Tunisia. From the first phone call we had, he was easy to talk to, understood what we needed done and was direct and clear about the procedure of the survey. He speaks perfect english which was a must for us. Even though I am fluent in French, my sailing vocabulary is not so great, so with him speaking great english, we were really able to comprehend all the sailing terminology. He travelled to Tunisia and spent 2 nights there, as to have a full day for the survey, which we greatly appreciated. He understood how important it was for us to have a complete survey and not have to be constrained on a schedule. We were able to have a couple dinners together while in Tunisia and fly back to Nice on the same flight, which meant I got to pick his brain about the boat! Great and knowledgable guy and fun to hang out with. We would definitely recommend him 100%. We are currently in contact with the owners for the purchase of our dream boat! Thanks Thierry
