Great gym with a motivating atmosphere and modern equipment. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. I especially like the cleanliness of the studio and the variety of workout options available, from strength training to cardio and group classes. The environment feels energetic and positive, which makes it easier to stay consistent and motivated. Definitely one of the best places to train and improve your fitness routine!
Today I experienced a close example of how the patriarchy shows in micro aggression and gaslighting. I am really quite shocked at this gyms staff. I had booked a free trial training for 11:30 under my name. I arrived later (around 14:00) after calling in advance to inform the central office that I would be delayed, and I was told this would not be a problem. At reception, the male staff member insisted that another person with exactly my name and almost identical birth date had already checked in at 11:30, participated in a class, and presented an ID. Based on this claim, I was initially refused the free trial training because, according to them, “I had already attended earlier that day.” I explained clearly that this was impossible and that I had not lost my ID. Nevertheless, both staff members continued to insist that they had seen this other person and that the only explanation must be that someone had stolen my ID and used it. This is obviously an extremely implausible scenario. Instead of simply acknowledging a possible administrative mistake, they repeated this story several times in a dismissive and rather mocking manner. The situation felt like a clear example of what philosopher Kate Manne describes as gaslighting: “the undermining of a person’s sense of reality.” Rather than resolving a simple confusion professionally, I was repeatedly told an explanation that made no sense. What was particularly unsettling was how firmly this narrative was maintained, and how the second staff member continued to repeat the same claim. Experiences like this are troubling because they show how easily a person’s account can be dismissed instead of being taken seriously. A simple mistake could have been clarified within seconds, yet the interaction became unnecessarily uncomfortable and stressful. Eventually I was allowed to enter the studio, but the experience had already been overshadowed by this interaction. The studio itself seemed good and could have been a great fit, which makes the situation even more disappointing. I hope the management reflects on how staff communicate with potential clients and ensures a more respectful, solution-oriented approach in situations like this.
Just join Fitness First Berlin Gendarmenmarkt and have been there four times. In short: I love it! I am mostly interested free weights / mobility exercises as well as Cardio, and they have not only all I need, but sofar I have not had any trouble accessing what I needed when I was there. The place is neither empty nor overcrowded. As a "woman of a certain age", I am finding the atmosphere supportive and not threatening (which some gyms can be). The staff are extraordinarily nice (really!). My personal favorites sofar: They have a little women-only sauna (actually two - one a dry saune the other a steam room), and they have a separate and quite physio-area where you can do modern fascia and mobility training (five konzept). They also have a lot of other things - courses, a pool etc - but sofar, I have not tried them. All in all, am super happy with my decision to join.
My 1st experience here was amazing. I was met with a warm greeting by Sarah at the reception. She gave me a tour and made me feel comfortable in a new gym. Nice facility and a pool. Upkeep was decent considering how much traffic they have. I would recommend this place, for sure
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent gym! Super friendly and helpful staff, very clean facilities, and a great variety of well-maintained equipment. The atmosphere is welcoming and motivating. The only small downside is the lack of whey protein shakes for post-workout recovery — that would make the experience perfect. Highly recommended!
