We worked with Steven Langer of MLP to find a German mortgage lender willing to partially finance an apartment purchase in Berlin for us. Steven was very helpful, responsive, and managed to secure funding in a short amount of time. Unfortunately though, German bureaucracy (outside MLP's sphere of influence, that is) seems quite arcane to work with, as few things can be done digitally, such as uploading docs to secure sites or signing via secure links. We were a little surprised by these business practices seemingly stuck in the 1990s. Steven was critical in helping us work through this and we ended up being ultimately successful in our purchase.
