Mistakes, 5 Months of Radio Silence, and Contradictions A very bad experience in a very urgent family matter. We had explicitly agreed to legal aid. She had agreed to this and started her work on that basis. The lawyer, Susanna Eichner, drafted an initial proposal that deviated significantly from my stated objectives. Had I submitted this application as is, it would have caused me immense and irreparable harm. After I pointed out the errors, the lawyer disappeared for months. She completely ignored emails and phone calls for five months. When the situation became extremely urgent and I finally managed to reach her, she demanded a €1,000 advance payment. When I finally terminated the mandate, she paradoxically claimed that there had never been a mandate – but in the same breath forbade me from using her unusable proposal due to "copyright." Absolutely unprofessional.
