A couple of months ago, I was introduced to Mr George Gaifyllias, who undertook the task of selling my apartment in Athens. Mr Gaifyllias is a real gentleman, polite, amiable and totally dependable. A true professional. He immediately started gathering all the necessary information and within a week he started showing my apartment to prospective buyers. He remained in touch with me at all times, informing me of the progress he was making. Within two months he had sold my apartment at a highly satisfactory price. I couldn't recommend him highly enough.

I reached out on a Monday to discuss potentially selling my apartment through this agency. I first spoke with an agent named George, who asked me some basic questions before referring me to his assistant, Maria, for a phone consultation. After spending approximately 15 minutes on the phone with Maria, she confirmed that my property met their requirements to schedule an in-person viewing. We booked an appointment for Thursday at 2:00 PM, and I was told I would receive a confirmation call Thursday morning. Thursday morning came and went with no confirmation call. Around noon, I reached out myself to ask whether they were still coming. Only then did Maria call me to say that she had seen another apartment listed on my street and assumed it was mine. Without ever seeing my property—or even asking to see photos—I was told that the price I had in mind was too high for the current market and that it wasn’t worth her time to come. This happened just two hours before our scheduled appointment, and only because I followed up. I found this extremely unprofessional. The entire reason I contacted a real estate agency was to receive a professional evaluation of my apartment. Every property is different, and it’s impossible to provide a fair valuation without seeing it in person. I would have appreciated an honest, face-to-face conversation such as, “Based on what we’ve seen, we believe your apartment is worth closer to this amount.” Instead, my property was dismissed without anyone ever visiting it. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of courtesy and communication. They failed to confirm the appointment as promised, they failed to cancel it, and they only contacted me after I reached out. For context, I’m Canadian-born to Greek parents and don’t live in Athens, so I’m not familiar with the local real estate market. The asking price I mentioned was simply my own estimate and a starting point for discussion. I was looking for professional guidance, not an immediate judgment over the phone. I chose Keller Williams because it’s an internationally recognized real estate brand with a reputation for professionalism, and I expected a higher standard of service. Whether my price expectations were realistic isn’t the issue. Professionalism, communication, and respect for a client’s time are the minimum standards I expect from any business. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below those standards.
