My wife and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable time here. The change-rooms were comfortable and clean, and the lagoon itself was warm, clean and not very busy at all. We came at 10am and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a perfect start to their day!
A really lovely and beautiful geothermal spa. It fits very nicely in the surroundings, built to blend in in the forest behind it. Lovely views towards the sea from the pools. The spa has two quite large outdoor pools with close to 40° celsius hot water. Both pools have their own bar, where you can buy refreshments. There is also a sauna and a small cold pool. Really beautiful visually and very tranquil. Definitely worth visiting.
Easily the best lagoon in Northern Iceland! The main pool is spacious, with temperatures perfectly maintained between 35–40°C, and the dry Finnish sauna paired with the 11°C cold tub is a fantastic combination. The swim-up bar offers excellent options like mocktails and smoothies, all while you enjoy stunning mountain and sea views. The changing rooms are spacious and immaculate, and the high-quality toiletries are so good you’ll likely want to buy them at the shop on your way out. Highly recommend!
This place is absolutely incredible. You have to do this if you visit Akureyri. The staff here are super friendly & helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxed and chilled. Very clean place! The swim up bar offers a very good variety of drinks, both alcohol & non alcohol. (PS. You have to try the coffee shake with vanilla syrup - It’s incredible!!!) the coffee shake was that good, we came back the next day in the cafe/restaurant just to order another one. 10/10 experience. It looks like there will be a whole new section of this place in 2027 with a hotel coming too. A bright & promising even better future for Forest Lagoon. ❤️
We were advised to visit Forest lagoon by a local while in Reykjavik last year, and I can agree that was good advice! A lovely lagoon very close to Akureyri, with free parking and different packages available depending on your choice. We went for the calm package, with the use of a towel and a free drink from one of the swim up bars, and found this just right for us. We stayed about 3 hours. It is popular, but there is enough space for it not to be crowded. There is a cold plunge pool and a steam room. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are freely available in the showers. You enter the lagoon from the inside, meaning you can stay warm at all times.
