The Cultural centre building is a beautiful round building with art gallery, tourist information centre and souvenir/handicraft shop and public toilets.
Beautiful building located at centre. Inside the building there is souvenir shop and restaurant too. If you wish to have tourist information you can just simply hop in.
A beautiful, modern building with a striking design inspired by basalt columns. Inside, you'll find interesting art exhibitions and the regional tourist information center, which is very helpful for planning your stay. There is also a great shop with locally made souvenirs and jewelry. They host a wide variety of events, from concerts to conferences, so it’s worth checking their schedule before you arrive.
Visited the Hof Cultural and Conference Centre at Strandgata 12, 600 Akureyri, Iceland, and was immediately struck by its stunning architecture—it's truly an amazing building that blends modern design with the natural beauty of the area. Even though our stay was brief, the amenities blew me away: from versatile conference spaces to thoughtful touches like on-site EV chargers, which made things super convenient for us road-trippers. The service was fantastic, staff were warm, efficient, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. And shoutout to the restrooms: spotlessly clean and well-maintained, which is always a highlight in my book. If you're in Akureyri for events, culture, or just a quick stop, this place is a gem.
A fascinating looking building, easily recognizable as a landmark for tourists trying to find their way around the city. I have not been able to spend time to get inside on either of my visits to Akureyri. Beautiful exterior though.
