Bautinn Restaurant

Buger good, kinda wish my onion rings where bigger compared to the price, the service though...... yikes.... no acknowledgement when we came in waited 4-5 min until we go any acknowledgement from the servers, few of the girls where kinda just standing behind the bar and talking. Our server wasn't really rude just no emotions i guess. We also never got water.

Passing through Akureyri and stopped by for dinner. I had the tacos and a side of fries, I was happy with the flavor just as expected. We also had the salad but it was not good, my husband said that it seems no one at this restaurant has tried the salad because it tasted like nothing, just a bunch of lettuce and some other veggies with no additional flavor, whatever dressing they were supposed to add to it didn't taste like anything and at the end of the meal we also noticed that it was missing the sweet potatos. Not worth what we paid for. So I'm giving 3 stars because one meal was good the other was not. For drinks we had a beer and an mocktail (elderflower spritz) which was delicious.

We were staying at a hotel next to this restaurant and we went to Bautinn to eat around 6 p.m. The restaurant was obviously popular, so it was relatively full and we didn't get a table, but she wrote down my name and said we could come back in half an hour. We also went down to what looked like a pizza restaurant at the back of the same building, but it had closed, and there was a sign saying that they were now serving their pizzas in Bautinn. When we came back we got a table for two and sat down and ordered just two pizzas and tap water. We noticed early on that there was some noise in the place, and it increased after we got our food. There was apparently some kind of children's birthday party at a table not far from us. Crazy increasing noise and no adults present. It got so bad that we finally asked for a box to take the leftovers to the hotel instead, without us saying anything about the reason. However, I think the staff were also a bit upset about the behavior of the children at the other table, but they didn't say anything either. Quite ordinary and greasy type pizza and therefore soft bottom (New York Style?), but it tasted okay. Best enjoyed in the hotel room. 7995 ISK total.

Although the restaurant looks smart, the food is a bit diner-esque. Not bad, but not amazing, either. The platter with three meats was okay—nothing really wowed us, aside from the eye-watering price, I suppose. We had hoped that the lamb would be a standout, yet it was just standard. You get the idea. You’ll be able to find a decent meal here, at least.

You just can't go wrong here! 👍 We saw this restaurant on maps and my son noticed the burger with "bacon jam" so we decided to give it a try. It was excellent 👍! I had fish n chips. Icelandic fish and light fluffy texture. Delicious! The fries were crispy and peppery. The chicken burger was also excellent 👌 I tried Icelandic Gull beer. Loved it Service was fast and friendly. It's decently priced as well. What's not to like!? Best choice award from us! 👌👌👌👌👌
