Great experience!! Runar and everybody else was absolutely great to work with. Accommodating my last minute request. Provided a great car with all necessary equipment to spend a week driving around and camping! Strongly recommend!!

Rented the 4x4 Subaru Forester sleep and drive and absolutely fell in love with the way of traveling Iceland in a camper van! The car was spacious and me and my sister (both of us 160cm tall) fit easily in the back for the night. I could imagine that tall people could have a problem stretching out all the way? We also rented the additional camping table and two chairs, but they were quite unnecessary since we only used them once and all camping sites we stayed at had tables and chairs. On the other hand we might have used them more if the weather would have been better? The pillows that we also rented weren't the best but they fit their purpose! The camping set had all the essentials that we needed for the trip! We had the car for 6 days and didn't have any problems with the car during our trip. Also the guys at the rental were super nice and gave us some tips for the road and recommended some nice sights! It was a shame that some of the roads we had planned to travel hadn't yet opened after the winter. Fortunately the rental guys informed us of it so we could change our plans. I can honestly recommend this company! Would have wanted to write a review via TripAdvisor but weren't able to find your company there?

We had a blast traveling Iceland in January in the 4x4 truck with camper! We cooked in the camper and we kept warm and cozy with the heater inside. It's such a beautiful country and there is no better way to explore it than this. The company was super responsive and friendly and we even got the owner's cell number to call in off hours and he quickly answered one of our silly questions and was so kind and helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this company!

We rented a Dodge Ram truck with a Travellite camper in back for 9 days in June, 2016. We traveled with our son, his wife, and their two-year-old. Ásgeir at Camping Iceland made sure that we had an extra large truck with plenty of space in the back for two adults and a child car seat. He also provided a large Quechua XXL III 2 Second pop-up tent for our son and his family, since the camper is not big enough for five. This was an awesome set-up. Our son's family moved their suitcases into the large tent vestibule every time we camped, and they had plenty of room to sleep. The tent held up very well in rain and high wind. The camper was also awesome - we had a refrigerator with a working freezer, a two burner gas stove, and a table that could fit four in bad weather - although all five of us in the camper was cramped (as expected). The combination worked very well, and the 4WD truck allowed us to explore the Westfjords, Kerlingarfjöll, and Landmannalaugar without limitations. We did find the truck camper to be a handful in high wind and a bit top-heavy on steep winding roads, but that did not prove to be a problem for us. The experience with Camping Iceland could not have been better. We had a problem with the tent the first evening when we set it up, and they brought a replacement tent to our campground! We always got more than we expected in every encounter with this company, and it was clear their focus was on making sure we had a great trip. I cannot recommend Camping Iceland highly enough. They really care about their customers.

We hired a Dodge Ram Camper from Camping Iceland for 10 Days in March 2016. Camping in March is slightly more difficult as not many sites are open but the Dodge Ram camper gave us the flexibility to camp wherever we liked (within safe reason). Having driven the ring road and west fjords I now understand the apparent high cost of campers/motor homes in Iceland - The roads destroy suspensions, exhausts and tires easily hence the wear-and-tear cost is built into the hire cost and is justified. The pick-up at Camping Iceland was straightforward and the staff gave us a detailed chat about the conditions in Iceland. We were given some websites to look for weather and road conditions which really helped us on our travels, particularly in the West Fjords as some roads were impassible and we had to modify our route based on this. The camper was ideal for 10 days and even in the cold conditions we didn't need to refill the propane for the heater and cooker, using the camper heater sparingly in the evening and morning only. The sleeping bags provided were more than warm enough down to -4 C we experienced. We experienced a minor mechanical fault with the vehicle later in the trip in a remote area which camping Iceland organised a mechanic to have a look at it. Unfortunately it couldnt be repaired there but was still drivable. Camping Iceland refunded us a days rental to compensate for the trouble which was much appreciated. Overall a very good service and would I would recommend Camping Iceland highly.
