i wanted to buy a house and they said someone offered much more than us. but today when i looked at the price of the house posted on fastinn.is the price was even lower than what i paid? is there something shady and illegal here? worst company i have ever seen in Iceland.

We both bought our apartment and then sold it again though Remax with Dagbjartur Willardsson being the agent. On receiving the apartment there was a number of things wrong with it. The apartment had not been cleaned and they hadn't fully moved out all their furniture when the apartment was handed over too us as was agreed in writing. An old faulty washing machine and tumble dryer was left in the communal laundry room which I had to take to sorpa. I also had to pay someone to take down and then rebuild a wall in the basement to remove their very old faulty chest freezer (which had it's bottom rusted though) and then also take to Sopra too. The oven was also faulty. We hand held back funds from the final payment for some of these costs. Dagbjartur who was our agent then went behind my back to contact me ex wife and told her that the final payment had to be paid in full and scared her with the threat she would face legal actions if she did not pay immediately. She of course paid out of our joint account. When challenged about getting a replacement oven and covering the extra costs, Dagbjartur informed us because we have now paid the final payment in full there was nothing we could do. His messages was "He is not going to change it and says this business is over ☹️" When asked if there was any legal redress, he replied "The cost pr. Hour with lawyer is around 50.000 so that is not a wise way to go that way." and "The deed has been signed so this is more difficult." This cost is in excess of 238,000 Kr (expenses plus cost of new oven) as well as a lot of lifting of stuff out of the apartment and hire a van to take to sorpa for stuff that was not ours and we should never have had to deal with. When selling out apartment I also instructed him to listed for a higher price, which I had agreed with my ex wife. He refused to do so at first and then later agreed but still listed apartment at the lower cost and never updated it. When dealing with Dagbjartur Willardsson in person, I had informed him that I speak very little Icelandic, but he repeatedly keep speaking Icelandic to my ex wife, excluding me from any discussions which of course impacted me. Extremely unprofessional and will never deal with them again.

I would like to thank my real estate agent. The apartment is not sold but he is available mornings and evenings. The man is great in every way and I have to praise him. I have sold properties before but never received such service as from him Oddur. I recommend him more than a hundred percent. Thanks Oddur.

Poor company in every way. They do everything as they see fit, but the seller loses. Including legal violations by Remax.

I definitely don't recommend these guys!!! They signed an initial contact with us, didn't do anything for more than a year to find a buyer. When we brought the buyer that we found ourselves they agreed on their honorarium and we agreed on the contract signing date. Then they were postponing the meeting for 2 week to finally inform they are not going to cover this sale. Amazing job, keep doing the great job.
