Horrible sulfur smell, been in a lot of Icelandic hotels and nothing this bad. Cold water even reeks of sulfur. Rented a 2 bedroom, ended up in a giant studio with four beds. Terribly loud street noise, slept with earplugs and still hard to sleep. No shampoo or soap provided.

Stayed here with my spouse and a friend in the two bedroom apartment. It’s a great location for visiting Reykjavik. The apartment living room has a great view out over the north side of the city and to the bay and mountains beyond. It was a large space that was nice for relaxing after being out all day. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, coffee/tea, and cleaning supplies. Everything was clean and working. The building and apartment were secure and the area very safe. One bedroom had a single large bed (about the size of a king in the US), and the second bedroom had three single beds. It worked great for us, and would probably work really well for a family with kids, storage might be tight if three adults stayed in the second bedroom. The only downside was there was some noise from the bar under the hotel. We were prepared based on other reviews, and the hotel provides earplugs. Honestly we only really noticed the noise the first night and it wasn’t that loud. Otherwise there was no noise from inside the hotel. Communication with the hotel was excellent. They are very responsive to chats and email. Checkin information was sent ahead of time and was clear, the hotel is well marked and we had no I issues finding the entrance or the room. Checkout instructions were also clear and sent ahead of time. Overall I definitely recommend Mani apartments, especially if you’re looking to stay in the more touristy downtown.

A family of 4 - including 2 teenage boys. The apartment was perfect for our needs. Central to bars, cafes, sights. A 17 min walk to bus terminal for trips and a 20 min walk past harbour to fly over Iceland. We thought the noise may have been an issue - it wasn’t at all. I wore earplugs (provided) no one else did and we all slept well! The apartment was comfortable- had everything we needed. Communication was great - to access apartments and any other issues - always got through to speak to someone who was helpful and resolved any issues. Would 💯 recommend and we would return to mani apartments too. We had a great time and feel we picked the perfect location !! Thanks for a great stay!

As first-time visitors to Iceland, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location of this flat is perfect—situated right next to the most important sights and within easy walking distance of the bus stations for tour pickups. The apartment is located on a wonderful street where you can start your day with coffee and a French croissant from the incredible boulangerie next door. The area is filled with souvenir shops, supermarkets, and pubs offering traditional food and live music. The flat itself was clean and spacious, but what truly stood out was the service. The staff from Mani Apartments were incredibly responsive; no matter the time, they replied within minutes to any questions we had. This 24/7 support made us feel very safe and welcome. I am definitely visiting again!

We have travelled to over 33 countries with two kids. This apartment by far is the worst one. 1) It's on top of a bar with live music and thumping base that shakes the entire apartment and then the drunkards spill over it onto the street and yell until 3-4 am. None of this was disclosed in the VRBO listing. I am sure the mgmt will respond to my feedback and say that the noise is out of their control. BUT is being honest and transparent in disclosing it on their VRBO and airbnb listing out of their control as well ? Deception is not a good look. And just like they left a few earplugs they could also update their description on VRBO and Airbnb. Deception anyone? 2) The window shades barely came to the bottom which left a huge amount of light into the room. It is not that hard to have blinds that can work and windows and flooring that are soundproof. They obviously don't care as they could have done something about it after all the other negative reviews. 3) The beds are on springs and are atleast a dozen year old. There is mold in the bathroom. I think they make presents nicer than this. 4) We asked for extra towels and no response. The customer service is probably the worst I've ever seen. 5) 2x in one night the fire alarm went off and we had to pile out into the cold. There was no explanation from the apartment security. This is just unacceptable. 6) mold growing in bathroom and other places. This is a serious health risk and they shouldn't be allowed to rent this place 7) One of the bedrooms reeked of cigarette smoke. And this is branded as no smoking on VRBO. They just left the windows open. I am sure they charged the previous renters.. And let my asthma flare up I have 7 points listed out against them. I doubt they will take ownership of anything and will most likely deflect and shrug off any responsibility. This is what happens when there is a supply demand imbalance. *CRAP* passes for 5 star prices in Iceland. I think there core audience are 20-year-old college students who fall drunk on the floor and don't care about any of the inconvenience. So 2 days here and ZERO wink of sleep. Mani has surely left a bad impression on an otherwise beautiful country. Even a 1 ⭐ rating is too generous.
