Very cute little bakery spot. Asked if anything was vegan friendly and she immediately pointed out this (photo attached). Other flavor options available (strawberry, chocolate, caramel). Lots of baked goods that were generous in size and delicious.

Absolutely amazing and fresh pastries and espresso. Order at the counter and dine in or take away. It was a busy place when we stopped. We had the ham and cheese croissant and pistachio, both delicious!

If you’re anywhere near Kökulist Bakery—especially coming to or from the airport—this place is such a sweet little gem you don’t want to miss. Its proximity to Keflavík Airport makes it the perfect first (or last!) stop in Iceland, and trust me, you’ll be glad you made the detour. The display is absolutely irresistible—rows of beautifully crafted sweet and savory treats that make it almost impossible to choose just one. We were completely spoiled for choice and somehow kept gravitating toward anything pistachio… and every single bite was worth it. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with so much care. What makes it even better is how inclusive the menu feels—plenty of vegetarian-friendly options, along with a great selection of drinks for both adults and kids. Whether you’re craving something indulgent, something comforting, or just a cozy spot to recharge, there’s truly something here for every palate. A must-stop bakery that turns a quick visit into a delicious little memory ✨

I read the reviews before going and saw this place as an alternative to getting something from the airport. Easy to get to with parking our front. What a great choice. They had typical "European" type (Nice roll, sparce meat and cheese) sandwiches ready made. I was so hungry that I didn't get a picture of the sandwich but it was very good - fresh. I got a two pastries, again started in before the photo, but the one was a local doughnut and the second a flakey pastry with pistachio cream. All Iceland prices are high, but these were quality items and I felt they were a good value. They also had much needed coffee in urns near the door. Once you had your cup, refills were easy and the coffee was delicious. Friendly staff help taking our order and getting our credit cards to work. Seems like the locals were all coming in for their morning needs. Make it a stop on your tour if you can.

1st stop after leaving the airport in Iceland. I ordered a Berliner which in the US is a jelly donut. I give it 5 stars. Best jelly donut I have ever had. Soft, and just the right amount of jam. We also had an almond croissant and it was slightly dry in comparison to what we are used to, but still good. Two cups of coffee and a nice booth to make our plans for the day. We stopped by because a reviewer said he always comes here on his way to and from the airport. Good plan! We will follow suit.
