Reykjavik Central Apartments

We booked this apartment eight months ago. Now I understand why it was necessary to do so – the apartment has a fantastic location, and the apartment itself was fantastic. It is located near the old harbor; everything is close and within a 10 to 20-minute walk. A very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The apartment was equipped with things you wouldn't expect even in some better hotels. Very clean and spacious. Beds were absolutely great, we slept like a babies. Our host, Sjonni, contacted us immediately after we booked the apartment with a lot of useful information, and we were well prepared in advance for our stay in Reykjavik. He was also immediately available when we needed any information during our stay in Iceland and responded very professionally and helpfully, yet very friendly, as if we were his family. We made two trips on Iceland and both times our starting points were only a few minutes away from the apartment. This is something that is very useful when you are in a completely new environment and are not yet used to the city itself. Finally, a fact that is absolutely worth mentioning – when we arrived at the apartment, small gifts were waiting for us! Many thanks – the gifts were absolutely fantastic! I would recommend Reykjavik Central Apartments. Having dedicated free parking (only available for some apartments) can't be beat. We didn't need to drive around or pay, which was great. The apartment isn't luxurious, but it was clean and spacious and worked quite well for our family. It is walking distance to the harbor (for whale watching tour) and tons of restaurants. It met our needs, provided a great location, and was a good value!

We've just returned from a 4 night stay at one of the apartments and we thought the apartment was brilliant. The apartment was spacious, clean and contained everything we needed for our stay. Self check in with the use of a key box, very detailed instructions are provided to assist with this. The apartment was located in a great location, just one road across from the harbour road. We were only 5 minutes from the town centre and a large array of restaurants.

Stayed for 3 days - 2 adults and 2 children. The location of the apartment is perfect. This may not be entirely obvious from the map. It is about a 5' walk to the main pedestrian street and a 4' walk to the harbor where you can fine two grocery stores, a great variety of restaurants, and three main museums. If one wants to take a stroll on the harbor, it is literally 2' down the street. The proximity to grocery stores may be a truly winning factor, as your only way to cut down on food costs is to buy food for breakfast and dinner, as well as (very good) sandwiches for lunch. You can walk to a grocery store or drive. Food is expensive in general but being able to have your own breakfast may save you $100.00 per meal. The apartment has assigned parking which is phenomenally convenient. It is wonderful to just drive up and park without any hustle. The house and the street are much more attractive than the outside map would suggest. :) The apartment itself is very well appointed, built and furnished. It is spotlessly clean. The bedding is excellent and of high quality. The stove is great, and a dish washer works perfectly. Sjonny was a gracious host. As we arrived early, as everyone arrives from the US, we were allowed to leave our luggage in the apartment while we went out into the streets. Overall, it was a great choice that beats a hotel stay in every way.

Our family (children age 14,12,8,6) stayed at this apartment for four nights. We had long wanted to visit Iceland. This apartment could not be described as cheap - but it is terrific value for a group such as ours compared to hotel prices. It is worth every penny. It is large, modern and warm. It is stylishly decorated but in a reasonably child-proof way. The picture window view of the harbour is much, much more fascinating and beautiful than pictures can suggest. There is underground parking and the apartment is located a few minutes’ walk from a variety of supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The property manager is accessible and very helpful. We were mostly children but three couples would be equally happy here. You may raise an eyebrow looking at the area and harbour on Streetview. You would be wrong. This is a buzzing and lively area, and the main downtown area is a short walk away. Altogether a great place to stay
