I am writing this review to warn future tenants based on my experience with this agency. The agency was supposed to help me and three other people find suitable accommodation in County Cork. After months of searching and being in a very vulnerable position, we were placed in what turned out to be one of the most expensive and most rundown houses we had seen. The property had serious issues from the start: no insulation, exposed electrical wiring, water-damaged ceilings close to collapsing, visible mold, unsafe electrical outlets, no smoke alarms, leaking taps, and extremely poor heating. During winter, the house never exceeded 15°C, even with very high gas and electricity bills (around €100 per month per person). The shower was completely non-functional when we moved in and took 12 days to be repaired. During that time, we were told to shower at a neighbour’s house. Despite repeated promises of renovations, the living conditions never meaningfully improved. After leaving the property, our security deposit was not returned. More than six weeks later, the agency claimed we had given no notice — despite the fact that they were informed of our departure date in advance, provided us with cleaning instructions, and gave us clear instructions on how and where to return the keys. New tenants moved into the rooms the very next day. Additionally, furniture that personally belonged to me was kept by the agency. A roommate who stayed after our departure was not allowed to take it when he moved out, as the agency claimed it was “included in the rent,” which is incorrect. When I finally managed to speak with a representative, the conversation was extremely unprofessional and aggressive, and my concerns were dismissed entirely. Based on my experience and the number of similar negative reviews, I strongly advise potential tenants to proceed with extreme caution.

Rented an apartment from McLoughlin Barry over the past years, Noelle and Eric were highly professional, helpful and efficient. Good service.

Very disappointing experience. The attitude towards clients is biased and disrespectful, with inappropriate comments being made openly. They did not return my deposit, claiming they were on vacation, and later tried to put the blame on me. This happened even though I followed their contract exactly. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve been renting my apartment in Cork through this agency for about two years now, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with their service. They're very helpful and responsive whenever I have any issues or requests. Special mention to Noelle, our agent. She’s always friendly, professional, and truly committed to helping in every way possible. If you’re looking for a trustworthy and supportive real estate team in Cork, I highly recommend them!
