I was insured for €569 for 2025-2026 and got policy renewed at €1,150 for 2026-2027 renewal. I called and they said they can talk about reducing the premium but no reason for the 100% increase. I'm sure this is very unusual but genuinely happened to me so I thought I'll renew. I went with another company.

Started my policy with AA insuramce today and was very happy with the signing up process. They were able to give me an excellent quote over the phone and setting up the policy was very quick with no hassle. Very friendly and helpful customer service.

Poor customer service, they answer the sales phone in seconds but do not answer the customer care line at all. I would not recommend them.

Stay away from this company! Terrible roadside assistance service!

We called for a recovery truck, but after waiting 4 hours, nobody came. We were told they were extremely busy. We then had to leave the car broken down for another two days before calling the emergency roadside assistance again. After waiting another 3 hours, an employee finally arrived, only to tell us that the company has just one recovery truck and that they wouldn't be able to help us for the next few days because it was fully booked.

When we called on the first day, we were told that it was not possible to book a recovery truck in advance. However, the employee who came tonight told us that it's only one recovery trucks in the whole company which i hardly think it's lie! This shows a complete lack of communication and professionalism.

We paid €4,000 for a year's insurance and even subscribed to the additional roadside assistance service for €6 per month, only to receive absolutely no help when we actually needed it.

I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company to anyone.
In the end, I had to drive the car 17 km to the garage without power steering, while the dashboard was showing a "Steering Wheel Defective" warning.

My experience with AA Ireland has been extremely disappointing.

Their customer service is one of the worst I have dealt with. Every time I called, I had to wait an unreasonable amount of time before anyone answered sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes 20 minutes, and on other occasions 40 minutes or even longer.

The biggest issue was that my travel insurance was automatically renewed, and around €40 was taken from my bank account without me realising beforehand. I did not need or want the renewal, and I was very unhappy to discover the payment had already been taken.

In my opinion, customers should be clearly informed before any renewal payment is processed, and it should be much easier to cancel if the policy is no longer needed.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend AA Ireland. Please check your bank statements carefully if you have any policies with them.
