I paid a €150 consultation fee and instructed the firm to obtain counsel's opinion on the prospects of a live employment claim. I provided a full document bundle the same day. I heard nothing of substance until 22 June following my own follow-ups, when I was utlimately told the barrister could not take the case on because of her caseload. No prospects opinion was ever produced. Every update in between was that the firm was still waiting to hear back. By that point, settlement discussions with the other side's solicitors were live and time-sensitive, which the firm was aware of. I had to instruct a new solicitor at very short notice. Nearly two months, and nothing delivered for the fee paid. Total waste of time for a time-sensitive matter. 150 euro for a 10 min consult, with no deliverables.
