Staff was very friendly and helpful! They have lockers for your luggage, 1 euro/hr. Inside the lockers, there's a power outlet, so you can charge your devices. I was recommended to do the walking route (follow the notes), which was nice and easy given the provided map. Finally, they helped me calling a taxi to the ferry terminal. Definitely the right place to start your exploration of beautiful Liepaja!

Hello, I’m addressing to discuss about an unpleasant accident that happened to me today (5th of August). I rented a bicycle at your Liepājas information center, I saw that the bike I was renting was rusty, but I ignored it. While riding it, I noticed that the back wheel is slightly touching the corner of a metal stool in the bike, but I thought it’s not a big deal and was riding further. Everything was fine until the bicycle chain got loose and fell off while I was simply riding the bike on the bicycle path. I fell off with the bicycle and injured myself. As I imagine, the problem was in the uneven back wheel, that was touching the stool or in the rusty, loose bicycle chain, because it was really strange that by simply riding forward on a smooth road, the chain would unleash and I would fall down with the bicycle. When I came back to the information center, they helped me disinfect the wounds, which I’m grateful for, but I was dissatisfied and disappointed for the staff not returning my money when it was clearly the untidy and old bicycle’s problem. I want you to understand that it is very dangerous to rent old, almost falling apart bicycles. It would be great if you could inspect your rented bikes more carefully and when an accident happens, act in a professional way and return the money, because you cannot return the health.

Unfortunately the staff need training to be more informative. I asked about good cycle routes in the area and was just given a map without any details or insight. The printed material is very good though.

The information office is very nice: small but full of many different souvenirs. I have been there a couple of times and I have always found very pleasant personnel, communicating in a very good English. If you need some good advices and paper guides (most of which for free) about Liepāja or even Latvia and its main regions/cities, you are in the right place. The missing star from the top-rank is because of the prices: the articles that you can find there are very nice and some of them very original, but the prices are too high compared to the average ones that you can find in Latvia (excluding Riga, of course).
