I made a big mistake of not trusting Wytse originally, but he's a very friendly, honest and good person.
Quintessential Amsterdam realtor. I strongly advise to find an alternative when possible. After being insulted on the phone when trying to negotiate prices, they try to max out the deposit together with the landlord at the end of your lease. E.g. we got charged the full amount for a laundry machine that was included in the rent and had to be replaced in their opinion. In the same realm, carpets and wall paint with minimal wear and tear had had to be completely redone at our costs.
I found my apartment in Amsterdam thanks to Absolute Housing. The agent has been extremely patient with all my requests and also very professional and kind. I definitely advice absolute housing if you are looking for a flat in the Amsterdam jungle.
They made the effort and stuck with me throughout a difficult property search, where I had quite specific requirements and a strict budget. Thanks for the patience and persistence in getting me the right home.
I called at the office number for the first time to describe my situation as I am looking for a rental apartment. I received a call back from Wytse and I must say I encountered very unfriendly behavior from him. I explained to him that I am an expat student living years in Amsterdam and informed him of my situation and budget (which is fairly high 2.5k euro per month). He turned me down immediately claiming that it is not his policy to accommodate people with foreign income and overall he was aggressive over the phone telling me to go ask my landlord if I have any objection. Why would you state that you accommodate expats when an income statement from abroad is a dealbreaker? Unprofessional and rude I do not recommend! UPDATE: Wytse called me this morning and tried intimidating me to take down the review and only after I accepted to take it down, did he have the courtesy to admit being unprofessional in our phone call yesterday. Apparently according to Wytse me having a budget of 2.5k euro per month for a 2 bedroom in Amsterdam is the equivalent of "trying to buy a ferrari with 1k euro in your pocket." This is the epitomy of the sad state the housing market of Amsterdam is right now and I quote Wytse from today: "I work for the landlords and not for you".
It was a tremendous pleasure to work with the Absolute Housing team. In our case, they were representing the landlord, yet we distinctly felt their thoughtful attention to the interests of both parties involved. The process was incredibly swift and seamless, all documents were prepared in a modern digital format, and their completion took merely minutes. We are genuinely grateful for such an excellent service.
The team @ Aboslute Housing is brilliant. They listen you well, understand what you need and act accordingly. They were extremely patient with us in finding the right apartment despite of weeks of effort. We can't thank them enough for the apartment they eventually found for us. They stated all the terms clearly and honestly upfront and abided till the end. Couldn't be any happier !
Wytse helped me very nicely and quickly with a tenant. He is very professional and gives clear and good advice for renting out your home. I highly recommend absolute housing to help you out!
