They refuse to give you any information about their services. You have to pay them, take time off of work and visit them in person before they tell you how much their services cost. I expect this is a tactic to make you pay extra: you can't compare prices and after paying money and spending time to find out what it's going to cost you, I suspect many people will want to just get it over with or feel unconfortable saying no in person. They tell you this is because every situation is personal. The same applies to booking a trip, getting a haircut, sending a parcel, going to the doctor, getting advice on buying a house, etc. Yet all these companies manage to provide you with clear rates or at least a quote after explaining your requirements by email or phone.
My fiancé and I had an excellent experience at Kooijman Autar Notaries. We visited them to arrange our prenuptial agreement and testaments. During our initial meeting, they guided us through the entire process and helped us achieve exactly what we wanted, while keeping the conversation tone remarkably light. On signing day, they helped us find a translator, and Mr. Autar even revised portions of the prenup on the spot to clarify our positions. Thanks to Kooijman Autar Notaries, we're happily entering our marriage knowing we've arranged everything effectively.
2 stars for office only. Made divorce papers here and really disappointed of quality/price ratio. Just for your information you will be charge also for drinking water time - so friendly advice “no drinks” and keep speed them up ( as every minute counts….. ). Made most of documents ourself- but still paid too much. Not recommended.
When I sold my apartment the buying party chose Kooijman. Right from the start the communication was very sparse. While ultimately they did what the needed to, I was the one that needed to contact them multiple times for clarification, ask them when they were sending documents, and needed to clarify timelines. There were times where their emails just ignored questions that I had forcing me to call them to actually get answers to which at times the responses where dismissive and uncaring. I would never choose to do business with them.
Contrary to the previous reviews, I had a very pleasant experience with Kooijman Autar Notaties. I had a simple legal request of having an international document notarized. The lady that help us was very friendly, understand our needs, and was able to fulfill the task in a very efficient matter. Overall they left a very positive first impression and I will consider (and recommend) them for any legal matters.
