De Handige Meeuwen renovated our kitchen in Lombok for us. Rick and Zeger created a plan in a pleasant manner. We wanted to retain certain elements typical of our home, and they realized this beautifully. The people they work with are all friendly and committed. They prepare everything well; the schedule is tightly organized, and everything went smoothly. It is impressive how, despite having multiple projects running simultaneously, they always remain friendly, thoughtful, efficient, and communicate with humor! Even when I had doubts about something, they remained patient. They are popular, so chances are that some patience will be required, but it is worth it. We are very happy with our kitchen, which now feels much more spacious. If something (big) needs to be tackled in the house again, we hope to be able to fly the Meeuwen in again. The birdhouse is already hanging ready 😉

The skilled Seagulls thoroughly renovated and made the ground floor of our 110-year-old house in Lombok sustainable. With love, attention, and incredible craftsmanship. Rick provided expert advice at countless points during the renovation and took care of everything. We faced a major setback when asbestos was discovered under the floor. No one could have foreseen this, and it completely turned the entire schedule upside down. Together, we worked through this through effective communication, and the Seagulls went above and beyond to minimize costs and time loss for us. Their handling of the renovation after the remediation was fantastic, and we are thrilled with the result. So: if you love your home and manage to snag a spot in the schedules of these Utrecht-West icons, you're in luck. That's certainly how we feel. Our house is ready for the future while preserving Lombok's unique atmosphere!

I am amazed. Professional and very quick work, outstanding communication - also with my neighbours. They built a dakopbouw, some new walls, a new toilet and stairs for us. Every single detail went just as we planned and on time. Very reliable and nice people who also helped us a lot in planning and came up with really good ideas and solutions. They have an eye for everything. On top of that, they made very exact calculations of the costs. I cannot recommend them enough.

When we decided to renovate our house, we had several reasons. With a third child on the way, we wanted to create more space by extending our living room. There were also several issues that needed addressing, such as an outdated kitchen, a hole in the floor under the countertop, damaged walls due to rising damp, an outdated meter cupboard, and damp exterior walls on the garden side. We wanted to take the opportunity to thoroughly resolve these issues and move the kitchen forward. Due to time constraints, we quickly chose the contractor Handige Meeuwen, with whom we had had good experiences in the past. We knew they not only deliver quality work but also contribute valuable solutions and ideas. This confidence was reaffirmed during the preparation phase: their tight schedule, clear communication, and commitment gave us peace of mind during a hectic period. The renovation was completed almost perfectly and on schedule. Although there were some setbacks in the costs, these were always discussed thoroughly, ensuring we never encountered any unpleasant surprises. The costs ultimately escalated considerably, and because we have little experience with similar projects, it's difficult to assess the value for money. What we do know for sure is that the quality of the work is high. The daily contact via an app was a major plus, as we were constantly kept informed of progress. However, things did get a bit chaotic at times, especially because we were in contact with several people within the Handige Meeuwen team via the app. This made it difficult to maintain an overview, but fortunately, it didn't significantly impact the schedule or the final result. The result? We are extremely satisfied with our renovated home. Everything was carried out as expected and as promised, and the choices we made together with Handige Meeuwen have proven to be very effective in practice. We now have a more spacious, beautiful, and functional home that is completely ready for our growing family. Super friendly and quick in replying. Unfortunately they're not servicing the area of Utrecht where I live. If I ever move to Lombok, Oog in Al or Nieuw Engeland I will definitely contact them again for an offer.
