Had a pleasant and fruitful first discussion with Bram, the mortgage advisor from Hanno who is a specialist in expat mortgage in the Netherlands.

Bram is friendly and professional, also very experienced in the industry of mortgage and real estate matters in Netherlands. He's given me good insights and advice, very patient, honest and understanding, I highly recommend his services! Hopefully to get in touch again very soon and wish him a prosperous journey ahead in his professional career! Thanks again Bram!

As a first-time buyer, I had a great experience with my mortgage advisor, Bram from Hanno. He explained every detail I needed to know to buy a house. He is patient, knowledgeable, and responsive.

Another positive aspect of Hanno is its provision of a portal for all the necessary documents that you can upload. This makes the entire process smooth and easy to follow.

One area for improvement is how they handle document approval. It would be beneficial if they could handle document issues more effectively by informing the client earlier. In my case, one document had to be replaced three times. If this didn't happen, my experience would have been even more awesome!

Heel fijn contact gehad met Bram. Erg behulpzaam en duidelijke uitleg gekregen over alles wat ik niet begreep. Na het toesturen van de benodigde informatie was mijn hypotheek zo rond.

Buying a house is a really important step, we used a lot of our savings and trusted an (expensive) advisor to help us, but unfortunately our experience with Hanno was just terrible. Those were some of the most stressful times we had ever had, with sleepless nights and stomach pain.

We wanted to buy our first house in the Netherlands and, as we are expats and Hanno promises a specialized help, we’ve selected them. In reality, although there is an additional fee of 250 € for a mortgage advice for expats, all documents are in Dutch. Also, we never saw the face of the advisor because all the communication was exclusively via phone or email.

After sending all the requested documentation to Hanno, we received a proposal from some providers and we chose Central Beheer and signed the proposal. However, apparently it wasn’t the formal agreement and the signed file went back to Central Beheer for a final look. This was never clear from Hanno side. At this stage the provider started making random questions - like how much money we spend going to work - and the process was never progressing.

There are deadlines when buying a house and we needed the mortgage approved before the end date of the purchase agreement´s financial clause. Thus, Hanno asked us to request 1 extra week assuring us that there were no problems with the mortgage. So, we did it.

Unfortunately, this extra time was not enough and Hanno advised us to ask for 2 more days (we actually asked for 3). To give some confidence to the sellers, we were advised to transfer the deposit anyway (10% of the total!) without the mortgage being confirmed and we did it.

After the 3 days, we didn’t have the mortgage approved and our advisor stopped picking up the calls or answer emails. When he finally picked up a call, he told us to ask for 1 more day – imagine how we felt having to ask 3 times for an extension! Luckily the sellers agreed in an additional week.

Unsurprisingly, after 1 day we still didn’t have the approval, therefore we changed mortgage advisor to Expat Mortgages. They have all info in English, quickly found us a mortgage and we could buy the house with tranquility.

I attended the housing webinar organized by Hanno. Advisor Cees helped me enormously by familiarizing me with the Dutch housing market, answering all my questions, and sharing numerous tips and tricks when it comes to buying a property in The Netherlands. I highly recommend it!
