I had a good experience working with Van EE & De Jonge as my notary for an apartment purchase. They acted professionally throughout and were available to answer my queries in the lead up to the signing.

Our experience with the house transfer process was very quick and smooth. The location is incredible though it is always best to plan for a parking space in advance. We arrived with the other party before time, and were offered coffee while they were preparing copies of our documents. We hired a translator who explained the process before the notary arrived. It was set up like a at appropriate formal level for such processes. I loved that they explained everything we were signing very clearly, and were given enough time to get your questions answered. Translator as well as the notary gave us enough opportunities to reflect on what is being said, and ask questions when needed.

Good: they had time to do the work on short notice; prices were moderate. Notary answers your questions but only during the meeting. Bad: service value 0, they forgot about sending over wiring instructions; did not send over draft of the deeds; lied about trying to contact me on the phone; forced their own translator on me; both assistant and notary rude; fees have been miscalculated and got not reimbursed despite reclamations on several occasions. Based on all the negatives, worried how precise they are in their work. Will not give them any assignment again.

Upon buying our very first home, we were excited to get things signed and official. Unfortunately the reality of this process was nothing short of a nightmare and their service was completely unprofessional. It was our understanding that my Dutch girlfriend and I would not need a translator for this appointment as my dutch ability is at an acceptable level, and we were told any parts I do not understand then my girlfriend can explain for me. I completely understand that the whole process has to be explained in Dutch since we are talking about a lot of legal matters however I have never felt so belittled and bullied in my life! The notary read aloud to both parties yet consistently questioned only me about parts I wouldn’t even know even in English. He would not let my girlfriend assist me or let her explain parts I could not follow. I felt like I was being picked on by a school teacher, his attitude was appalling and he made us feel like we were making his life a misery even if we are being charged thousands of euros. After several questions our notary decided ‘he couldn’t work like this’ and stormed out the room. He left us in panic with no idea what was going on and blamed me for not being able to continue. Thankfully we found a last-minute translator who was able to step in and help build the connection between this incredibly rude man and us, who just needed to sign our names away. Would not recommend this service to anyone, Dutch or not.

Today, 24th August we had a residential property transfer and mortgage deed transaction,as Buyers, which was conducted by this Notary office. Mr. De Jonge and the translator Ms. Monique conducted the entire 52 minute proceedings very professionally, including the gentleman assistant/clerk who assisted in the documentation (whose name I don't recall, apologies!!). All in all very well explained, both the transfer deed conducted with seller present, and the subsequent mortgage agreement signing. The Notary was recommended by our Buying Makelaar RE Makelaars. Highly recommended....
