Gjensidige Drammen
A large Norwegian insurer with a Drammen presence, receiving consistently poor marks for claims handling and customer care.
What customers love
- Local Drammen branch considered separate from problematic Oslo head office
- Previously valued for in-person customer access
- Long-term customers appreciate multi-policy convenience
Worth noting
- Vehicle damage cases left unresolved for years with no accountability
- Premiums increased sharply after claims despite advertised no-bonus-loss policies
Best for
Customers who have no alternative and require basic insurance coverage only.

Insurance number: 92940037. I was at Gjensidige today but was told that they were no longer accepting customers. It is very difficult for an 83 year old lady to deal with a computer. I was just going to ask if I was covered for a flight ticket I had, Kr. 1,369,- round trip to Bergen, but due to illness I had to postpone the trip, I then had to buy a completely new ticket on Norwegian without deducting the unused one. Can Gjensidige cover it? I changed insurance companies because of the opportunity to talk to someone, but unfortunately you have taken away that fantastic opportunity. Kind regards, Britt Homstvedt.
I have lost all trust in Gjensidige after my experience after a vehicle damage, no bonus loss in case of damage but the car insurance went up from NOK 13,000.- to 28,000.- per year with full bonus, in addition my other insurances also increased a lot in %, so as I have experienced this after the damage I have received the damage cost in installments, worst of all, after 3 years the car has still not been repaired and Gjensidige disclaims further responsibility and does not see itself as a party to the case, even though it is a comprehensive damage and it was they who sent me to a brand repair shop 100 km away from my home address, the appraiser I was assigned has not responded to any direct inquiries these three years, he has only responded on orders from the customer center after repeated reminders from me, I am over 60, and I work with customer service myself, but have never been close to such a customer experience as I have had here, so after many years as a loyal and paying customer, and as a result of poor customer service and customer experience have I changed insurance companies and moved my entire pension holdings to another company that gives me security. I would like to add that it is not Gjensidige in Drammen that has given me these bad experiences, it is the head office in Oslo that has caused this.
A company that only thinks about money. Does not take into account students abroad. Customer service shows superiority and makes us customers feel bad. Mother has been a customer here for over 20 years with 8 insurance policies over 50,000 NOK a year. When I return to Norway I will make her switch to a better insurance company.
This is an insurance company that only wants money from its customers, unfortunately. Not helpful when you first need help and incredibly confusing to deal with. Do not recommend this company if you want a reliable and helpful insurance company.
does not care about their customers, and is dedicated the worst company I have ever had.
