Joao Cunha Vaz of EDGE Lawyers gave a very convincing Powerpoint presentation about settling down in Portugal, etc.. That was at Pam Golding in Bishopscourt, Cape Town in 2017. We subsequently (a few months later) purchased an apartment in Lisbon and started the whole Golden Visa program for my wife. We paid all the necessary fees and got all our documents together which took 2 years. What a nightmare. Once they got most of our money, communication became non-existent unless … they needed more money. All in all, they haven’t done ANYTHING. Even 4 years later, we discovered via another law firm that they didn’t even apply for the Golden Visa. They have delivered nothing despite getting thousands of Euros. I’m sure the 5 stars reviews that are posted are FAKE from friends or staff members who want to counter balance the terrible TRUE reviews.

We have used this firm for the buying and sales of our property in Portugal and they have given us invaluable support. They are totally reliable, friendly and provide excellent service and they have excellent knowledge of the Portuguese law on many fronts. Everyone speaks English in the office and that is very important as we do not speak any Portuguese. They are totally supportive of their clients and do help out wherever they can. I can fully recommend Isabel and Martha, who we have been dealing with, but I would not be surprised if there more employees that give the same 5 star service.
