We worked with Maria do Carmo Silva (remotely from the U.S.) over a span of 7 months with the purchase of a home, and also obtaining a rental for our D7 Visa requirement. She was highly recommended by another American who moved to Portugal. She was/is very diligent, professional, and speaks perfect English (for those who need it). Maria really went above and beyond in her roll as a buyer’s agent, always on top of everything and everyone in the process to make sure we were taken care of. Maria is highly knowledgeable in real estate and also banking. She was aware of our needs, and was very proactive, communicative, and responsive. Maria was extremely efficient and knowledgeable assisting us with our real estate transaction. We are American and wanted to purchase a retirement home in Portugal which was a bit intimidating. Maria’s knowledge of the various neighborhoods in and around Porto helped us narrow down our target neighborhood. Her English is great, she is very responsive to inquiries and provided an objective assessment with a detailed appraisal of the property we ended up purchasing. Additionally, she is a great negotiator! Particularly though, I appreciated her honesty throughout the process and that if she was not 100% sure when answering our questions, she would step back to confirm she had the correct information before providing an answer. Without a doubt, we would use her services again!

We found Maria by just stopping in at a Porto Remax office where no one spoke English fluently. The office staff called Maria in and she arrived shortly later. We met and she got to know our desires and propery preferences. We were on vacation from Arizona and literally knew nothing about the real estate purchasing process. Maria has a team of professionals with a fantastic attorney and they both guided us through a successful process to purchase our dream home in Porto. She was willing to take us out up the Douro to look at country properties also, but helped us focus on the city where we ended up. Maria grew up in Porto and knows the neighborhoods in detail. She also knows Lisbon well. We are extremely happy with Maria's expertise and the whole purchasing process could not have gone smoother from initial showings to final closing and obtaining of keys to the castle!
