I recently sold my property through Gilson Gray and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The property sales manager, Deborah, was absolutely amazing – professional, friendly and always quick to respond, which made me feel completely supported throughout the process. I was then passed on to the conveyancing and solicitor team, who kept everything running smoothly and made the legal side feel straightforward and stress free. The marketing of my home was also handled brilliantly. The photographer they use is incredibly talented and the photos really showed my property at its best, helping it stand out on the market. Overall, the whole team put in a great effort to make my house look attractive to buyers and to keep the sale as hassle free as possible. I would happily recommend Gilson Gray to anyone looking to sell their home.
Firstly, all the team at Gilson Gray were always friendly and very professional in all our interactions. We had switched to GG after an unsatisfactory experience with another firm on another transaction, due to a lack of proactivity. This feedback is purely constructive to aid what we would see as improvements. Selling team:- Pros: Every time we needed to speak to our contact we were always able to secure a call back, a video call or even an invite to come in and chat. Cons: We felt we were driving activity on possible price changes and tactics, and we found this a bit disappointing as we were hoping to get guidance. We often felt like once we were "in the difficult box", we were left alone. Conveyancing team:- Pros: Again always friendly and professional Cons: We did not actually speak with the conveyancing team until we asked to, and that was over a month from us accepting the offer. An introductory call would have been expected. We only knew where we were at in the process when we asked. Eventually, we concluded missives when we did, only because we repeatedly called to keep things moving along Very frustrating when you need to confirm removal dates etc. In summary, we went with Gilson Gray over other competitors as we were told we would be getting a more personal service, and we felt they would try harder than other firms that are more established in Aberdeen. Unfortunately, we were left with the impression that whatever firm you use, you are basically paying for a transactional experience, as nothing else over and above that was offered, apart from the odd chat, which was always prompted by us in the first place.
I had a great experience working with Jill Cruickshank when selling my property. From beginning to end, she was professional, responsive, and very easy to communicate with. Her timely responses and clear updates throughout the process made everything much less stressful.
