Insured my business through Marsh Commercial and its predecessors since I established it around 10 years ago. After another annual cost increase I decided to phone around the alternatives myself this year before renewing. Outcome? I improved my cover and reduced my annual bill by 60% in less than 10 minutes saving £,000’s. What the heck have I been paying for?
Don't return calls. Had to involve office manager but still could not resolve problems. They have gone downhill fast since changing from Clark Thomson/Jelf. Try someone else for your business insurance.
I'm having the same experience as a couple of others here. Very rarely answer the phone, never return calls, emails almost never replied to. I've been trying weeks to just get the certificates for insurances I've already paid for - I can't sign contracts with clients without this simple bit of paperwork.

As I landlord I was recommended to use this local broker for my landlords insurance. They were OK at the beginning when it came to taking my money initially and setting up the policy. HOWEVER their aftercare customer service is unprofessional and you can clearly see that they are only interested in sales - not supporting you after the initial set up. My emails have been ignored and promised call backs not followed up on. I needed to cancel a landlord insurance policy because I sold the property - I contacted Marsh commercial immediately once sold so I could be refunded part of the amount paid to the insurers. It has now been over 2 weeks and the broker I was dealing with named "Ross" has not been helpful - All it should have taken was one phone call to the insurer but 2 weeks later I have still not had this sorted. Potentially losing ME money. Not happy with this company and would not use again OR recommend.
