Details on the survey were inaccurate, therefore a poor service. The man doing the survey didn’t seem to like me asking questions. At one point he told me they didn’t lift carpets and then asked me to do just that.
The solicitor organised the survey but communication from Shepherds was apt and informative. No delay in carrying out the survey and result was forthcoming timeously.
I had Shepherd's prepare me a home report for the sale of my property. The communication was excellent throughout and it was a very easy process from start to finish. The home report itself was completed and with me very swiftly. The surveyor (Paul Taylor) was very polite and thorough. Highly recommended.
Used these people several years ago. Withheld my £350 deposit. Excuse given: " there was dust on the skirting boards". The flat was back in the window of their shop being advertised two weeks later as "newly decorated". Yes, with who's money? Stay clear.
A terrible terrible experience with this company. Would strongly advise to avoid if possible. Before I signed the lease for a place I was about to rent I pointed out a few things that needed fixed, one of which was a danger to public outside of premises. The agent for Sheperds agreed this was the case and in front of 2 other witnesses from different companies told us that it would all be sorted and to leave it with him. The council also had a look at premises and agreed it was a danger and cones should be placed around front door. He then asked me to sign lease which I duly did on the basis of what he told me in front of said witnesses. After a few weeks nothing was happening and agent from Sheperds was contacted on a number of occassions before replying to me saying that landlords were refusing to get it fixed as it was "now my problem". I told him that was shocking to do that to me and he said grudgingly that if I got problems fixed myself and handed in invoices that landlords (Grainshore LTD) would pay up although "they didn't have to". It was eventually 3 months before I was able to fix it all meaning alot of lost revenue and cancellations etc. and I was still paying rent on premises. It was a few weeks after invoices were handed and still no payment as promised but was again told it would "be sorted". One year down the line I have not been paid a penny and it has ermerged since before I moved into premises the firebrigade burst in due to a gas leak and the shutters (one of the other problems I had)were broken, meaning all sorts of problems throughout my year lease. This was never fixed nor was I told about this prior to signing lease. Unfortunately I decided enough was enough and have since moved elsewhere. Have contacted Sheperds on a number of occassions privately but they just ignore me. We have now got a solicitor on the case but have been left stunned by their refusal to sort things out. They don't deny the promises that were made as they know there are witnesses aswell as emails and texts, but just point blank refuse to do the right thing. All in all it shows that Sheperds not for the first time will do and say anything to get someone to sign a lease. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
