I paid for a survey on my house last year. Was recommended by Fortress One to have woodworm treatment done by 'Fortress One' at at cost of the treatment over £2000. My survey in addition cost was around £500.<br><br>In later inspection the woodworm was historical and no treatment was needed. This company is supposed to be a specialist in the diagnosis of woodworm. Their recommendation was false and woodworm treatment is only needed if there is a current infestation. I should not have been recommended woodworm treatment.<br><br>Fortress One recommended me to get an unnecessary work done, to benefit themselves and not the customer..<br><br>Despite my concern raised, I was not offered a proper explanation as to why I was recommended a woodworm treatment. This is obvious to any qualified surveyor. Their explanation was that there was sign of woodworm.<br><br>However, no woodworm treatment is needed if it is not active, i.e. it is historical. My property is very old and any proper surveyor will be able to tell if it is active or historical and recommend, if no, or any further action is needed. Nor was I asked if any prior treatment had been done at my property.<br><br>Their only response was to offer come and visit the property to point out woodworm. This is pointless exercise, as that is not what I paid a service for. I paid a specialist to survey my house, especially for woodworm and find out if there was any action needed or not. Not to be recommended any unnecessary work.<br><br>Any excuse that is replied to from this review. Do not listen as I raised my concern in a respectful manner many times and was fed with excuses to cover themselves. This was unprofessional. I asked for a genuine refund, because I didn't get the quality of service that I paid for. I then had to pay for a different company to give me the accurate information about woodworm, which indeed said it was historical and no woodworm treatment was needed.<br><br>Fortress One was not able to provide me with this accurate, very important information, despite charging me the full cost.

We had a property that the home report survey had picked up firstly an issue with a small area of woodworm in an attic space and secondly higher than normal levels of moisture to lower level of walls within main living room of our property.<br>We contacted Brian at Fortress One who meticulously looked in depth to any other areas of note as he checked over the property.<br>Brian is extremely approachable and very thorough in his work and offers sound advice on potential issues he spots as he works through the property.<br>He carries & uses all kinds of high tech equipment to find the root cause of any issue highlighted as he surveys the property and will clearly show & explain the results from his data as he works his way through the property.<br>In our case poor ventilation was identified for the livingroom area and Brian explained his findings during his survey & a few days later gave a very high detailed report on what needed done to eradicate the issue & offered a quotation to repair our problem.<br>We were also given a detailed report & quotation to treat the small area of woodworm, along with all safety data sheets & data on solutions that would be used for the treatment.<br><br>All treatments done by Fortress One have full guarantees.<br><br>To summarise Fortress One we found are real professional in their field, offer sound advice with advised solutions and give full advice on preventative ways to solve any minor issues before they even become noteworthy.<br><br>Brian is extremely knowledgeable and super friendly as he goes about his works.<br><br>Thanks Brian & the team at Fortress One!!!
