They don’t just make promises—they deliver.<br>We received expressions of interest from several companies for the major renovation of our apartment. Fortunately, Cedar was the only company that offered a complete end-to-end service, from initial design through to final completion.<br>As we spend much of the year living in Australia, it was essential for us to find a company we could trust. From our very first meeting and the presentation of their initial plans, we were convinced that Cedar was a quality-driven organisation with an excellent vision for the apartment.<br>Throughout the project, we had numerous Zoom meetings with Hamish, the Project Manager, and Clare, the Designer. There was much to discuss and many challenges to overcome, but at no stage did we feel under pressure. Nothing was ever too difficult. Their professionalism, creativity, positivity, and attention to detail were evident throughout.<br>The final result exceeded all our expectations. Cedar transformed a very run-down flat into an exceptional home that we are proud to call our own.<br>We are extremely impressed with the entire team and would not hesitate to recommend Cedar Developments to anyone considering a renovation project.

Cedar was definitely the right team for my renovation project. It required everything: completely new kitchen and bathroom, windows, full rewire, and everything in between. The quality of the work they did was top tier, and the whole place turned out exactly how I wanted. If I could do it all again, I’d do it all the same.<br><br>Everyone I encountered from Cedar was extremely professional and polite. Joe came for the initial site meeting and he explained their process and what he thought the works would entail. He listened attentively to the flat’s backstory and what I was trying to achieve with it, and it was obvious to me that he not only understood the vision but also cares a lot about the projects they take on. Hamish (project manager) is incredibly organised and efficient, and he literally handled everything. I never had to worry about what was going on from day to day, which was very important to me since the work happened while I was abroad. When they say they offer a full service experience they really mean it, and I appreciated that they were willing to go the extra mile. Hamish is very knowledgeable about all aspects of buildings and renovating, and especially old buildings in Edinburgh like mine, so I could rest assured that there was a reliable expert in charge. He was very responsive whenever I had questions, and checked in with me regularly. He’s also very kind and patient, and equally as willing to debate paint colours as he is to explain multiple times how saniflos work. He will really listen to what you want and then deliver it in its best form. Hamish is a true gem. Clare (designer) is also excellent, and fun to work with. She has an amazing eye for the details, and helped me make good decisions throughout. She cared about the design outcomes from a practical standpoint as well as an aesthetic one, and when it came time to choose finishes she always knew exactly where to find the fixtures/ fabrics/ stones I was imagining. We did as much as possible together, but I fully trusted Clare to make decisions when I couldn’t be there in person to look at a sample stone or colour swatch. Like Hamish, she really listened to what I wanted and made it happen. Special mention to Aaron, who crafted the cupboards and other joinery – he does such beautiful work, and I highly recommend Cedar for any and all joinery projects. Hamish and Clare have been very kind and accommodating to my family and friends who came along for visits to see the progress, too. I think they enjoy the human aspect of their work, which is refreshing and makes a big difference to the overall experience, especially when it’s a sizeable and lengthy project like this one was.<br><br>Cedar have continued to be wonderful during the months post completion. They have been making little tweaks and adjustments as needed, and will be working on a few additional things that I’ve decided to add since phase one. If I were to have projects in the future, big or small, I’d hire Cedar Developments every time.

Cedar were absolutely brilliant. Clare nailed the brief straight away and designed a mezzanine that transformed our daughter’s room. What used to be wasted high ceilings is now a super‑cosy, slick hangout space where all the teens love to watch telly and have sleepovers.<br>The whole team were friendly, professional, incredibly tidy, always on time, and delivered everything on budget with zero snags. Couldn’t recommend them more!

Having worked with the Cedar team for over 5 years, from small repairs, to building a garden home office, and most recently a large and complex project to fully renovate and turn 2 properties back into one, I can’t speak highly enough of the team. The most recent project was by far the biggest we’ve undertaken and having Hamish and the team available throughout was invaluable. Hamish’s patience, knowledge, and ability to always find a solution made it far less stressful than it might have been. We had a wonderful experience with Cedar: they did a renovation in our flat, transforming one bathroom and creating a new one in the box room. They build bespoke storage for our bedroom and transformed an Edinburgh press into a lovely built-in dressing table. The finished work is outstanding and the whole process was very pleasant. Working with Hamish, Joe and the whole team was great. They are great communicators, they provide great advice and they are very transparent with costs, which was very much appreciated. Hamish and Team upgraded the balcony on our house which is a listed building in Morningside. The communication and professionalism of Cedar was something that really stood out to us. Whenever there were any problems - and there always will be some on any project - they found a solution and kept us informed along the way. Hamish was a pleasure to deal with and Judy in the office was also very pleasant and helpful whenever we communicated with her. I can wholeheartedly recommend them as a firm.

We used Cedar Developments to renovate the Marchmont tenement flat which our family lives in. It was a four month project which included putting in a second bathroom, relocating the kitchen, updating the electrics etc and redecoration.<br><br>From early discussions right through to clearing the snagging list, Cedar was both highly professional and reliable. We had never done this type of project before and they did a good job of guiding us through it. They were quick to communicate about any potential issues that arose along the way and worked with us to find good solutions.
