Professional, approachable and easy to work with. I had been working with Chalmers Properties for the last 5 years as a contractor. My experience has always been a good one. The staff at Chalmers Properties are all helpful, friendly and supportive. I would recommend Chalmers Properties to anyone looking to rent or landlords looking for an honest letting agency to rent out their property.
Absolutely Disgraceful Today I wasted my valuable time visiting a property that can barely be called “habitable,” let alone suitable for rental What I found was nothing short of disgusting: thick layers of dust and fluff built up under the beds, dirty dishes left all over the kitchen counter, clothes dumped everywhere, bin bags abandoned in corners, and hygiene standards so low they would make an environmental health officer’s eyes water To make it even more surreal, your agent, Christopher McKeown, spent the entire visit plastering on the most unconvincing plastic smile I have ever witnessed — clearly a desperate attempt to paper over the embarrassment of showing a property in such a revolting state. The awkward grin only made the whole experience more insulting, as if a forced smile could somehow compensate for the lack of basic hygiene and professionalism Presenting a property in this state to potential tenants is not just unprofessional — it is a complete and utter disrespect for people you are supposedly trying to do business with I have one question: would YOU live there? Because no self-respecting person would I strongly suggest you actually inspect properties before wasting people’s time. I will also be making sure to leave an accurate review of this experience wherever possible, so others are warned before making the same mistake Address: 60 Ingram Street (Albion Buildings)
This is a review I waited until the end of my tenancy to make . Me ,my husband and my wee ones rented a good property in a poshy area in Glasgow through Chalmers , I would say the only disadvantage of the property is the lack of storage areas as the landlord didn't allow using the attic, the agency members were very cooperative with us until we had the property. Then we suffered from lack of communication through 3 months , that was really the cause of leaving the house after a few months . Examples: We complained about a broken garden fence ,roof moss and a locker with only one door since we moved . They answer emails a week or 2 late . Even when the wind broke the TV antenna on the roof , which could fall and cause serious harm they offered the maintenance after weeks . When we called the agency they would say we can't answer the phone we will answer the late emails now ! So it really drove us to leave the house after just 3 and a half months ! It was a good house with a poor agency. Even the notice period, they promised to offer a better experience for us through it but instead they brought 15 ppl to view the house at once just for the landlord favour of minimizing the time without the monthly rent . They even asked for another viewing just one day before we leave the house ! I would say as an agency they were not keen at all to provide a good experience for us as tenants as soon as we lived in the property.
Very poor customer service! Tried to see an apartment in Bothwell. Refused viewings initially as we were looking to rent later than they wanted. Property was still available and finally got a viewing arranged at a time that suited the estate agent and not us. We were coming down from Aberdeen. We showed up early and phoned to find out where they were to be told it was cancelled. No email ot phonecall received. Stated they had sent an email but unable to forward the original one on! Total waste of time and no wonder the property is still on the market! Follow up to the reply below: With regards to the reply below from Chalmers Properties we had asked for the cancellation email to be forwarded to us. What was forwarded did not include a to: email address which should have been our email. We would still like to see evidence of this email actually being sent. We have checked spam folders and no email was sent from what we can see. Secondly, we were not accommodated to view it. I had asked on the 13th Oct to view it but was told my entry date was going to be too late. We then asked on the 21st Oct to view on Saturday the 1st Nov for which we received no reply. On the 27th Oct we asked again to view it around lunchtime on the Monday 3rd Nov and again told no and that the only time they could accommodate was 4.45pm due to the distance from the office. I did not feel that any effort was made to accommodate us especially with us coming from Aberdeen.
An utterly appalling experience. Chalmers Properties treats their tenants with blatant disregard. During our time living in a flat in the West End while attending university, they frequently ignored our emails and falsely accused us of not paying rent on time. When we provided proof of payment, they simply ignored our response and never addressed the issue again. Their communication was consistently passive-aggressive without cause. They arranged viewings of our flat without consulting us, and when we informed them we were unavailable, they stated they would enter the flat regardless. They treated my flatmate with hostility when his room was understandably untidy at the unagreed time they decided to show the property. To top it all off, after we spent two days deep-cleaning the flat to ensure everything was spotless before our move-out date, they charged us a £75 cleaning fee with no explanation. They even claimed we had left belongings behind, but the photos they provided were of items that belonged to the flat and were listed in the inventory. Overall, this company is a pathetic excuse for a business, staffed by incompetent individuals who seem to enjoy mistreating students and exploiting our busy schedules during exam periods. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. See below photos of the manner in which I left the property:
