Strathclyde Domestic Roofing

Over the years we have used several roofing contractors, with varying degrees of success, to replace slates when needed and to try to fix leaks in the flat roof section above a bedroom bay window. We recently decided that it was time once and for all to eliminate these problems by replacing the entire roof. The work was also to include replacing the fascia, soffits, guttering and downpipes. The first step involved obtaining some quotations for the labour and materials and an estimate of the time required to complete the job given that the work would be carried out in late March into April when the weather can be unpredictable. We obtained several quotes which varied in cost, start date, completion time and the level of detail included in the actual quotation. Of the contractors who submitted a quote we chose Strathclyde Domestic Roofing based on the competitive and transparent nature of their detailed quote and the comprehensive survey carried out by Mark. He was the only surveyor to check the condition of rafters, etc in our attic and from his drone aerial roof inspection it confirmed what we had suspected for some time that the chimneys were in very poor condition and needed to be removed. Communication throughout the project was excellent - Mark, and Gavin kept us updated on progress and quickly answered any queries we had. Furthermore, and importantly, there were no hidden extras or additional charges and the work was completed within the quoted timeframe. The workmanship by the slaters Alan and Andy was at the highest level, showing excellent attention to detail. Also, everything was left clean and tidy on completion. Strathclyde Domestic roofing replaced our rather complicated slated roof in its entirety, four high chimneys were also removed. The quote process with Mark was straightforward and transparent. Work was done over winter months and indeed during that time there was a period of fairly stormy weather but the project progressed fantastically despite all this and the Slater’s on the job were so professional. All the various aspects ran very smoothly and were managed on a day-to-day basis by Gavin with information being passed continually to us. The scaffolding company works and the delivery of all the materials was absolutely timed perfectly.
