Rented through Engel & Völkers Barcelona for an 11-month lease. Mixed experience overall. Roberto was great at the start — easy to work with and made the leasing process smooth. Once we moved in, we were handed off to the property manager. Routine maintenance was generally handled fine. But we dealt with a persistent sewage smell from the hallway bathroom pipes for the entire lease. We brought it up immediately. We tried everything — bleach, pipe decongestant, running the drains daily. Nothing worked. Every time we raised it, we were told it was "normal." It was not. The other bathroom in the same apartment had no issue, and in a year of living in Barcelona we never came across this in anyone else's home. The issue was never properly investigated, never escalated — just dismissed every single time we brought it up. Move-out was fine and we got most of our deposit back (minus some utilities), but being ignored on a basic living issue is not something I can look past. If someone asked, I would not recommend.

She was super helpful with organising all the visits, keeping everything moving, and making sure the paperwork was sorted quickly and properly.
