De notre coté, nous sommes tres heureux dans notre nouvel appartement à Poblenou, où notre chien pourra vivre sans avoir à le cacher ou à mentir! ________________________ My girlfriend and I contracted David and Valerie to help us find a rental apartment here in Barcelona, and unfortunately the service that we received was very much below expectations: They claim that they have partnerships around Barcelona that enable them to offer their clients off-market listings. However, after three months working with Valerie and David, we had been presented with just one (which by the way did not meet the criteria that we looked for in our next apartment). In other words, they cannot offer you any apartments that are not already on Idealista. Also, we had to explain them several times what we were looking for in terms of budget, pet-friendliness, location, etc., as if they were not really paying attention during our first and only call with them. We proposed several times to have another call to review our criteria to eliminate any uncertainties that they might have about our preferences, but it was quite obvious that this was not in their interest, and that their attention was elsewhere (probably on clients who are interested in buying/selling apartments in Barcelona where the good money is to be made). As we were getting increasingly concerned about the prospect of not finding an apartment, we eventually started sending them links to apartments that we ourselves found on Idealista (although this was actually their job). However, we soon found out that their approach was simply to send a generic message to the apartment owner or agent working for the owner, whereas we thought that they would at least give them a call. When we subsequently did our own apartment search independent of Skaal, we quickly realised that it was crucial to call the owner/owner's agent as soon as possible after the apartment was uploaded on Idealista as good apartments are quick to reserved, typically within 1-2 hours after being uploaded. In summary, if you are looking to rent an apartment in Barcelona, I really cannot recommend Skaal as they are not doing anything that you as a private person cannot do yourself. The best way to find a rental apartment in Barcelona is to be very alert on Idealista and contact (preferably call) the owner/owner's agent as soon as you see an apartment that you like. When you finally visit an apartment you like, you also have to be quick about sending your documentation (work contract, payslips, description of yourself and your situation, etc.). If you do this, you will eventually find an apartment, although it is not easy since the housing market in Barcelona is very difficult with way more demand than supply. Either way, the solution is definitely not to search for help and waste your money on Skaal.

I contacted David to sell a house in France so i could move in Barcelona. He also helped me to find a nice appartement in Pedralbes. He was very professional and efficient. He relieved me a lot of stress to move in a different country.
