After a year-long search for a plot of land that could meet my desire for ocean views and my husband’s need for a view of rolling hills and trees, we were excited to finally design our dream house in the perfect location. During the design process we had open questions about the slope of the land and how the house would fit into it, natural and artificial light and how it would illuminate rooms, hallways and entrances, what our privacy would be, and the overall vibe of our home.
