The location of the building is good, close to the city center and the hospital I needed to visit. However, the room was in poor condition, with the floor lifting up and very worn furniture (mainly the wardrobe and the kitchen furniture). The mattress was extremely small and in bad shape. There were no cleaning products or basic supplies—only some dishes and minimal kitchenware. When I arrived, there were no curtains, and although they said they would install them within a few days, they didn’t put them up until three weeks later, so I woke up at 5 a.m. every day. I cleaned the room and bathroom before leaving, yet I was charged 800 SEK a month later for “extra cleaning.” My advice is to take photos of everything when you arrive and when you leave to avoid unjustified charges, and do the same when using the shared kitchen. Overall, it’s a budget-friendly option for Sweden, but not very comfortable, and you need to be cautious about extra fees.

The kitchen only open from 8-20:00, the Service personel ist mostly unfriendly, the room was super dirty upon arrival, with coffee stains on the walls, sticky kitchen and cupboard, food leftovers in the cupboard, mold in the fridge, stained floors and unclean bathroom. The windows go right to a massive black wall so it is always dark in the room and the rent is unbelieavably high.

Unfortunately, my experience with the Housing Office in Uppsala (Flogsta) was very disappointing. During my stay, I faced several ongoing issues that were never properly resolved: low indoor temperatures for weeks despite repeated contact, cockroach sanitation that restricted access to shared kitchens, and room painting carried out while I was still living there, forcing me to stay elsewhere for several days. Communication was slow, and solutions were minimal. After moving out, I encountered further problems with the deposit. I was charged high and, in my opinion, disproportionate fees (for example, 550 SEK for returning keys to a nearby address - different one than the one of Housing Office), while compensation for major inconveniences was extremely low. Additional cleaning charges were applied despite the room being left in very good condition, which I documented with video. Overall, I felt that students are not treated fairly and are often seen more as a source of income than as tenants whose living conditions matter. Concerns were repeatedly dismissed, and flexibility or understanding was very limited. I strongly recommend future students to choose different housing - for example provided by the Nations.

They give you rooms in mediocre condition with defects and stains and then charge you ridiculous amounts when you leave the room in anything but absolutely IMMACULATE condition. If you live there, take pictures of every last corner the day you arrive.

Constant noise during the year due to construction, every time you complain to UUHO they say the "can`t do anything". Really shady regarding deposit due to cleaning, they don't do the cleaning themselves, they use an external company to do the cleaning and then they charge UUHO, which leads to students not getting their deposit because the external company marks everything as not cleaned. Very expensive place for a room with old furniture that doesn't get changed unless you ask for it, the common room its nice but they force you out at 9pm and don't allow you to stay there. The only good thing is that it's in centrum, so yeah, avoid this place with a 10ft-pole
