My wife and I, who are dual Swiss/US citizens but do not speak German or Swiss, were looking to purchase a second home in Switzerland. Although we’ve purchased properties in the US in the past, we found the Swiss process for purchasing property to be very different. After finding a listing on Homegate that interested us, we contacted Steven Koller of Immopartner-Basel. Steven was extremely helpful to us, as buyers, through the entire process. His fluency in English was exceptionally helpful for us. In addition, he was willing to explain the Swiss home buying process and timeline. He handled the challenges of facilitating a deal with a buyer in the US and a seller living in Thailand. He also graciously hosted us on several visits to the property before we made an offer. Once we made an agreement, Steven facilitated the reservation agreement and engaged and managed the schedule of the notary to help meet our accelerated purchase timeline. He was very responsive to requests for information from our mortgage lender. Steven was not only professional and knowledgeable; he was courteous, helpful, and friendly. Steven Koller was very professional and diligent throughout the marketing and sales process. The house was reserved quickly (which was the objective) and viewings arranged promptly with good feedback. Steven is always open and available to help with questions or concerns and willing to find a solution. As always, do your own research with regards to valuation as I found this to be rather a subjective exercise. Finalizing the sales contract with the notary was a very smooth process and overall, I would recommend Steven for his personal and professional support.
