I had a very bad experience with the managing director of Tschannen Metallbautechnik AG. Promises are often broken, orders take longer than agreed, and invoices are much higher than quoted. Many customers report similar experiences, so be extremely careful and always put all agreements in writing.
This company charged me exorbitant cutting fees that weren't listed on their website, which significantly increased the final bill. They ship the merchandise without informing you and invoice you without notifying you before shipment.
We wanted to have a simple handrail (5 meters of stainless steel) installed in our house. About three years ago, we already got a quote for this small project. The cost back then was CHF 1,800.00! Now, wanting to be sure the prices were still roughly the same, we got another quote for the same project. Suddenly, the same project costs CHF 6,700.00 for exactly the same materials and labor. I consider that highly unprofessional. Nevertheless, we wanted to have the error corrected and sent the company a somewhat annoyed email requesting a revised quote. We didn't even receive a reply. So, caution is advised.
As someone here so aptly put it: "Impossible is nothing." This attitude of Managing Director Jan Tschannen fascinates me every time! Thanks to his enormous expertise and broad range of knowledge, he finds solutions that others would never have even considered. We placed our first order in the summer of 2020 when we needed two patio steps "quickly and easily." The result was elegant, "floating" steps. And as is often the case when a customer is satisfied, several more orders quickly followed (new locking system, structural beams, metal covers, brackets, etc.), and we were never disappointed: Everything was always implemented very professionally and quickly. The employees are very skilled and easy to work with. This metal construction company is unrivaled for us, and therefore clearly deserves a 5-star rating.
