It's a pretty old gym. It's announced to be closed in april 2026. I opened a yearly subscription last week and they didn't tell me that. However I invite people interested to get a subscription to do it from this gym, since they offer you one free month since it's gonna close.
Not many people were using the gym, which is a positive aspect. However, there’s very limited open space for functional or non-traditional training. Most of the machines are quite old, and when I used the rowing machine, it felt like it was about to break. Overall, I found the experience disappointing. I would recommend Activ Fitness Charmille as a better alternative within this franchise.
Spacious fitness divided into two floors. Plenty of treadmills and cardio machines. The bathroom could have a better ventilation system. You need to bring your own lock for the lockers. Quite empty on Saturday.
I really wish they can open the gym early! Geneva is like any other city with busy professionals and even if they can’t be open 24/7 they can at least try to be open at 6 every day instead of having different opening times for each outlet. Second thing is there’s no permanent lockers for people ready to pay for lockers monthly. I mean yes Geneva is not London but at least few things deserve closer attention. Otherwise activ is good!
I had a free taster session at this gym today. The staff were friendly and the place fairly quiet around 4pm on Friday. However, despite their marketing, I was not very satisfied with their offer for weight lifting or resistance training. The equipment was rather outdated with a totally inadequate free weights area (basically a corner under the staircase). There were only 2 barbells and 1 EZ bar, and I could only find a single handle for the cables. Even with the place being quiet, I had to wait a lot for basic equipment I needed. There is a good variety of machines, particularly for cardio, but if you’re looking to do squats, deadlifts, bench press and the like, look elsewhere.
