Wish i could give 0. We rented an apartment managed by Bernard Nicod in Lausanne for a year, and it was by far the worst experience we've had with any real estate company. Communication was consistently poor. Simple questions went unanswered for days or were ignored entirely, and when we did receive responses, they were often vague or failed to address the issue we had raised. It felt as though helping tenants was never a priority. Throughout our tenancy, we repeatedly had the impression that the company was more interested in extracting money wherever possible than in managing the property fairly or professionally. Routine matters became unnecessarily difficult, and every interaction left us feeling like we had to fight for basic information and reasonable treatment. The customer service was dismissive and came across as entitled, with little regard for tenants' concerns. Rather than working collaboratively to resolve issues, staff often seemed defensive or uninterested in providing meaningful assistance. Overall, this was the least competent and least professional real estate management company we have ever dealt with. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Bernard Nicod to anyone looking for a responsive, transparent, or tenant-focused property manager.
Worst property management experience I’ve ever had. 0 stars in fact. Over 3 years I’ve dealt with an endless list of issues, including unexplained charges (CHF 830) they could barely justify, and a complete lack of responsiveness. Emails often go unanswered and you end up chasing for weeks or months to get any meaningful reply. And moreover they never seem to be responsible for anything: they cannot do anything with noisy neighbors (their tenants) throwing parties until morning , illegal parking on pedestrian side in the complex, dog shit in my garden. Yet when they need something from you, they suddenly become very present and insist on immediate action. Their behavior is exhausting, unprofessional and unacceptable. If you can AVOID renting a flat managed by Bernard Nico, do it.
The overall experience was truly horrible, and I would not recommend this agency to anyone. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with this agency. From the start, they were difficult to reach, which made the initial process frustrating. Once I managed to get in contact, they complicated the application process by claiming that some elements of the dossier were missing, even though everything was provided as requested. Additionally, they changed the criteria compared to what was applied to the current tenant, making the situation even more confusing and especially unfair without any explicable clear reason.
I am not sure if there is any lack of training or employees are just overworked, but this is one of the worst service I ever experienced. I would not recommend Bernard Nicod to anyone, it is impossible to reach out to them by phone (and when they do pick up, they are very o rude) and email, you should consider yourself very luck if you get any reply. There is an urgent need to review processes, deadlines, customer service approach and head count. otherwise more and more negative reviews are coming your way.
Had the most entertaining experience of my life with this agency. We had to renew our apartment during our stay because everything was destroyed or damaged. After doing so they asked us to pay 17K of outstanding rent because the contract was “renewed” from their point of view. I guess the lawyers proved them wrong ;) Good luck with your mafia methods of trying to scam people!!
