Upscale Interiors

We hired Upscale for a premium home renovation, which included bathrooms, flooring, painting, and built-in furniture. While the initial design concepts were strong, the transition to execution was highly problematic and fell far short of a premium service.<br><br>We had to hire a project manager/architect (recommended by Upscale) to handle execution and other practical aspects of the project. We still ended up having to manage last-minute redesign ourselves after Upscale approved tiles incompatible with our integrated sink. For a luxury service, the material support was lacking; we had to visit showrooms and source samples ourselves because the digital mood boards lacked practical utility. Furthermore, the carpenter had to bill us extra hours just to clarify Upscale's vague technical drawing details.<br><br>Communication and billing were also major pain points. Our written request to pause further design work during a layout change was overlooked, resulting in additional billing for work that did not align with our updated requirements. Additionally, our contracted hours vanished rapidly because we were billed ~CHF 1k per meeting for multiple team members to attend the same sync. Because tasks were constantly delegated to staff unfamiliar with our project, the final experience felt impersonal and disorganised.<br><br>The design team has talent, but the lack of care, communication, collaboration and execution support made this a highly stressful and inefficient renovation experience.

We recently refurbished and decorated our home and worked with Upscale Interiors, with Phaedra leading our project. Working with upscale was a very pleasant experience. Our designer Ewelina guided us through the entire process and through meetings with her, we were able to design the apartment the perfect way we wanted to. When it came to the construction,painting,carpentry and furnishing of the apartment, Marcella endured that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. Ferienwohnung Renovation/Umbau im Tessin. Sehr kompetent, prompt, sympathisch und effektiv (Mix aus Erfahrung, sehr guter Kenntnis von Materialien und Lieferanten und dazu eine überzeugende Einschätzung von Raumwirkung, Farben, etc) und hieraus Aufzeigen von Möglichkeiten, Optionen und klare Empfehlungen was sinnvoll, machbar ist bzw. eben nicht. Entsprechend Top auch punkto Preis/Leistung.
